Our Wee Wedding: Getting Ready

This Penny was gifted to me by my sweet friend Ashley at my bridal shower. This same penny was worn by her on HER wedding day. I put it on my shoe for good luck and good fortune :) It was such a thoughtful gift.

 Saturday morning Liz, Sophie, and I all went to get our hair done at my favorite salon in Glasgow,
Miss Bartons.

We sipped on Bucks Fizz (UK term for mimosas)
and got our pampering on.

A sweet blog reader of mine, Ruth, sent me that vintage brooch that I am wearing in my hair.

Stephen and the boys went and grabbed a beer at a nearby pub (duh)
while we got ready.

After we finished up at the salon,
we went back to my flat to finish getting ourselves together.
As you can tell,
I did my own makeup.

Our tiny flat was eventually overtaken by our guests,
as we all scrambled to get dressed and ready.
It was total chaos.
And so much fun.

It was Stephen that helped me into my dress,
the dress he found while we were at TopShop.
It was the only one left,
on sale,
in my size.
fate :)

I wore jewelry from my favorite shop,
Poshlocket,
and Marc Cain was kind enough to let me borrow a white faux fur coat.

I had every intention on painting my nails,
and then totally forgot.
Hence the chipped polish in the photo above.

I think that just shows how relaxed everything was.

After we were ready we all hopped into two black cabs to the ceremony site :)
