The Bachelor...I know...I know...

Okay,
so this is my first time ever doing a post on the bachelor,
but someone on twitter mentioned me doing a recap post,
and Bridget (who usually does posts on the bachelor/ette is out of town)
so I feel obligated to go for it.
I also have nothing better to write about currently...
lets just call it what it is.

Ashley H:
She got cut. duh. Did anyone else notice how her accent changed from when she was talking one on one with Sean to when she did her "i just got cut" interview? I thought she was a weirdo.

Ashley P.
She got cut also. shocker. Her 50 Shades of Gray stunt made her look like a total nut job. It might have worked better on Brad's season. He seems like he would be into a little S&M. I digress. When she got drunk and tripped down the step? I totally laughed out loud. Then her little bit at the very end of the show? Hilarious. She is at least crazy in a funny way.

Ashlee.
With two E's. She is one of my picks to go far, and that is not just because the previews suggest that. But seriously, only in America is a professional organizer a job. I think she might be a little crazy and OCD, but who isn't? I like her the best...so far.

Sarah.
I like her. When she was sitting on the couch waiting for alone time with Sean and feeling insecure because she has one arm...I just wanted to reach through the screen and hug her. I doubt she will be one of the ones at the end though.

Desiree.
I liked her dress. It reminded me of the Jenny Packham one Kate Middleton wore in teal, but girlfriend needs help with those bangs. Her whiiinnnyyy voice during her one on one with Sean started to feel like nails on a chalkboard, but she doesn't do it all of the time, so i'll let it slide. She will go far, until her boyfriend/hired actor (who is not nearly as hot as Sean) shows up to whisk her off. Seriously? Where did they find that guy?

Lindsay.
She will forever be known as the girl who wore a wedding dress on the first night of the Bachelor with Sean Lowe...and got hammered and tried to make out with him. I literally wanted the ground to swallow me up during that whole drunken "dance with me and lets make out even though we just met and I am wearing a wedding dress and smell like booze" scene. Can't believe she got a rose after that.

Lesley.
I find her boring.

Robyn.
I actually almost died from second hand awkwardness when she came in doing a back flip in her Rent The Runway Badgley Mischka dress and then totally ate it.

Tierra.
So all of the previews suggest she is going to turn into a Courtney (from Ben's season) type lunatic. Not gonna lie though, I would have totally given her the first impression rose too. She has fooled me so far into thinking she is wonderful.

Kristy.
"I am a Ford model" who says that?? You can say you are a model, but who names their agency as part of the job title? No one. Except her. Maybe I am out of the loop and girls are doing that now, but probably not.

Taryn.
Girlfriend is definitely going to probably opt to leave on her on accord, most likely in tears, because it's all just "too much" for her and she "didn't realize" because she has "never watched a season." BS.

Kacie B.
Suuurrpprriiiseee. She is back. I like how she came in thinking she had this in the bag, and then didn't get a rose until the ceremony part when half of the girls got one during the cocktail hour (changing things up already Sean...how dramatic of you). I still like her, but I don't think she is going to get the final rose/ring.

There are other women but none of them stood out enough to me yet.
I find the Bachelor so much more entertaining than the Bachelorette,
probably because the dynamic between a bunch of women is always so much more dramatic and entertaining.

Thoughts?

  1. i just cant watch this season because sean made me cringe soooo much on the bachelorette. i will miss all the girl drama though. might just watch for that reason... :)

  2. I agree with Sophie above- Sean makes me CRINGE. When he stood up and gave that speech about Emily? It was like watching Michael Scott on the office - couldn't do it. I had to bury my head in the couch. However, I will be watching. So far Lesley is my favorite, for exactly the reason you described - she's boring! Boring = normal, and I feel like a normal girl on this show is like a unicorn.

I totally noticed the accent change.

Also, I didn't realize that Ford modeling was so big in Wisconsin...

  3. That accent!! I know. I'm still baffled.

They should've kept 50 Shades of Cray on to keep things spicy.

Hope you keep up the recaps. I'm such a pathe

  5. How can Sean make anyone cringe? haha differing of opinion....As soon as 50 shades of drunk started talking about Sean tying her up I was thinking, have you seen Sean on TV? The most religious bachelor they've ever had? Geesh. I wish he had of kept her around for the entertainment factor though!

  6. YAY, love that you did a Bachelor post....I am a sucker for that show! Fav part of the show was the beginning when Sean and Ari were hanging out and Ari was giving him pointers, I almost died....those two are funny!
Ashley H., too much....I think she thought she was Nicki Minaj for a hot second there...wow!
Favs so far are Ashlee and Tierra, it's going to be another fun season!
Let's make these Bachelor posts a weekly thing....mmmk? I actually follow Sean's sister's blog and she does weekly recaps which will be fun since she is family so you see a little behind the scenes stuff....no spoilers or anything though!

  7. I'm already addicted to this season. So much drama! And I loved Kacie from Ben's season, but I don't see her going that far. I have no idea who I'm going to root for. :)

  8. The 50 shades of crazy girl was pretty entertaining, in a cringe worthy way, though her bit at the end had laughing pretty hard!

  9. I hate watching this show but I can't stop. I have more fun watching and blogging about the Bachelorette because it's seems less bitchy to poke fun at 25 shirtless meatheads than 25 lovely women (catty bitches). I don't really love any of the girls, yet. I thought AshLee was okay until she gave her spiel about "you didn't get the first impression rose you just got the first rose" to whatsherface. Plus, her name is AshLee and she didn't go to college. (See...I just feel like a bitch when I talk about these girls.)

  10. I hate to love the Bachelor, but I do. I really am hoping the girls spice up Sean's personality. I just think he's either too mellow or too boring. I have close friends who went to high school with Tierra, and she was the mean girl. She would make girls cry and think it was funny. Who know how that's going to manifest itself when you have countless other desperate, alcohol-inspired girls around her...

    1. I hate that I love it also. And i have just taken it to a whole new embarrassing level by posting about it. I am so fascinated by this Tierra character! I cannot wait to see more of her.

  11. Each and every season I tell myself I'm not going to do it....then that blasted first episode sucks me in! I love that you said "second hand awkwardness" because that is EXACTLY what it is. Makes me have to LOL/cover my eyes/shake my head kind of awkwardness. Who wouldn't want to watch that kind of entertainment?!? Nice job on the recap!

  12. My mine and my husbands guilty pleasure is the Bachelor..not for the finding true love aspect, but for the crazies. we eat it up. Teary exits of women that built up the Bachelor to be the absolute ONLY man in the world and sob 'idk what happened!!' um, he just didn't like you? Plus your totally right about Desiree. Home girl needs some serious bang assistance.

  13. Ohhh I'm so behind the 8ball and this is making me want to watch real bad.

  14. So I've never actually watched a full season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette. But I'm a HUGE fan of Bachelor Pad. I watched the season opener and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be watching all of Sean's season. Also, I completely agree with your overview of the girls. I cringed when Lindsey asked him to dance and then wanted to make out. Um yeah no. Awkward.

This season will def be interesting to say the least! :)

  15. I love that you did this post! Was totally laughing out loud at these girls! So pumped for the rest of the season! -Heidi http://fabricandfrosting.blogspot.no/

  16. Andreas made me wear headphones while I watched this so that he could watch TV at the same time and I felt even crazier for yelling at the ipad than I usually do. Many of these girls made me so very uncomfortable. Drunk Lindsey in the wedding dress? Oh NO! And the two Ashley's were cringe worthy television. Ashley H's barbie-esque plastic face scared me. And the 50 shades of Grey tie? It all made for such good tv and I am really excited to see how this one turns out. Please do more recaps. That's all.

  17. LOVE this! Your recap was hilariously accurate.

  18. Ashley H. drove me absolutely insane but I too really like AshLee (with two e's). I also really like Sarah and Desiree. I liked Diana too but I can't remember if she made it through or not (whoops)

  19. In the entire history of that show, I have only seen ONE episode and I didn't even finish it because those damn women were so freaking annoying. But I'm very entertained by your recap :)

  20. By far my favorite post this week in bloggyland. I completely agree with you on all of the girls - we have our same favorites and same people we think are nut jobs. I think it's going to be a good season full of lots of drama and jealousy of how cool their dates are. We will see.. :)

  21. I don't watch the Bachelor, but if you keep this up I'll never have to. Quality recap that would make Bridget proud!!!

  22. so, I know who wins. BUT I am not giving anything away. And I am trying to pretend that I don't know because that makes watching the season way more fun. I hope Tierra really is crazy like the previews show because that is so entertaining! Jonathan says Kacie is a butterface. haha

    ReplyDelete
  23. Totally agree w you abt Kacie - I think it was a bad sign that Sean was shocked she had come andddd said he had only thought of her as a friend before. If there was ever gonna be anything between them, he would def have fantasized abt her before, friend zone or not! Lol

  24. Thanks for posting on this- I love the Bach, as you know. But love Sean even more. SO bummed I'm not on the show ha! I LOVE Ashlee so far. I also read all the spoilers on accident. UGH! I hate when I do that and just.can't.stop.

  25. How do you watch the Bachelorette from outside the US? I also live abroad and watch unless I purchase through iTunes. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I loved this Megan! I agree with all of your commentary...and you should totally do this again. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. i didn't watch. but based on their outfits, i'd pick ashlee with two e's or lindsay.

    ReplyDelete
  28. eeek..I am a closet Bachelor addict. I think Sean is HAWT!! The 50 Shades girl cracked me up...she is a mess. Made it a fun watch for the first episode that is usually pretty mundane. And I like Tierra, too! Although, yes, she is apparently cray cray.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I AM BACK. cause i watched the first episode.

ashLee (ew). at first i really liked her. her story about foster care and all. but then when she was all (to tierra): "you didn't get the first impression rose, you got the FIRST rose." gag me. catty girls are theeee worst.

i'm not sure who's my fave yet...

    ReplyDelete
  30. love your review. spot on :)

taryn....even more spot on HAHA, i like her but she just seems too nice to be on bachelor

  31. Robyn and Taryn are just awkward and Tierra needs to GO. Homegirl is cray.
