What I Wore- N.Ireland Wedding

shoes: topshop (my new favorite pair ever) | coat: Zara | Dress: Zara | Earrings: H&M (with a little adjustment by me)

Two things.

1. I discovered the trick to staying warm in freezing cold temperatures whilst wearing only a dress, tights, and a coat:
Wear 6 inch platform heels.
I swear,
I exerted so much muscle strength to keep myself up-right that I actually felt warm.
I now understand how these british girls who go out at night in the winter only wearing a mini dress and heels don't freeze...
they wear super high heels that they can barely walk in...
(well and they probably consume a lot of alcohol)

2. This dress is totally backless.
You cant really tell,
but the opening goes all the way down to just above my butt.
Thus,
no bra could be worn....
But seriously, did not even matter.
This dress managed to hold my ladies in like whoa,
and keep them up-right.

moral of the story,

my ladies and myself remained up right despite the odds.

success.

  15. that dress is AWESOME. so are the heels. they make me wish i were shorter. if i wore those heels i'd be like 6'3" which then makes me feel like a guy and less sexy. buuurn.

  16. LOVE this outfit! And I definitely wouldn't have been able to stand up in those heels, so props to you! Also, I definitely laughed out loud when you mentioned your ladies staying up. Very impressive! Mine would have been quite unhappy without a bra...

  20. those heels are amazing but I think I would die if I tried wearing them! I wear flats and boots so much that when I put on the heels I do own (which before I was married I rocked daily) I almost break my ankle. Its sad.

  27. Beautiful and you make me laugh! I'll have to try that heel trick- because I did notice that about European women! I felt like a little girl over there in my flats at night! I brought them because I knew we would be walking so much, but man! I think I was the only one in flats! :) Next time, I'm bringing out the big guns (err..heels)!

  28. You look gorgeous, I love your dress!

  29. Wow, those shoes! I love the way they look on you - but if I wore them I would literally be 6'4"...which would not be normal.

  30. WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Hot lady!! And I'm totally down with the no bra thing...it's one of the few advantages of not being big chested. (And after 3 kids and watching my ladies "grow", I was mostly like "these things are just so annoying!) You look fabulous!

  33. Gorgeous as always :)

And on an alomst unrelated sidenote... I loved seeing your N. Ireland pics! Especially you guys at the B&B... Only becuase there is a castle that used to be in our family in N. Ireland, in Irvinestown. There's a B&B right down the road from it. It's been a dream of mine forever to visit the castle & stay in the lil B&B. :) Totally random - but your instagram pics totally made me think of it!

  36. those heels are amazing! i need a pair! i might actually be normal person height in them! and i love dresses with low backs.

  37. you look amazing!! So good I had to stop and actually post. I feel like a stalker these days barely enough time to write my thoughts. And those heels are ridiculous (in that amazing way not ridiculous in the typical way) i'd rock em but I'd be about 6'2" probably... And that makes so much sense why in movies the european women always have HUGGGEEEEEEEE high heels on when they're wearing normal westcoast nighttime outfits. They gotta engage their cores to stay warm. And also it explains why THEY ALLL SEEM TO HAVE AMAZING LEGS.

Okay enough about that. You look amazing!! And Im glad your ladies were well respected by that dress.

Don't lie. Those earrings are straight up diamonds.

  42. Ha! The dress looks great on you...of course :) I also would like to congratulate you on surviving the cold and wearing 6" heels. I'd die...from both! :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. As a London girl I can safely say (through experience of course) that in order to survive a night out in nearly freezing temperatures with no coat, you must wear high heels and you must consume alcohol. Its practically a law in London. And back to the point. I love the dress and the coat! Plus you have this gorgeous hair that I would pretty much like to steal please. Thanks.

Not sure how I missed this post last week, but yay for figuring out the secret to staying warm in the UK. Also, breaking your ankle would certainly taking your mind off the cold. That's probably the route I would go.

    I'm jealous.

You look GORGEOUS. and you need to bring those to your bridal shower so we can all do an OOTD photo shoot.

    CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!

You are just sexy as all get out and I can't wait to see it all in person. I can't believe this is actually happening!
