Two things.
1. I discovered the trick to staying warm in freezing cold temperatures whilst wearing only a dress, tights, and a coat:
Wear 6 inch platform heels.
I swear,
I exerted so much muscle strength to keep myself up-right that I actually felt warm.
I now understand how these british girls who go out at night in the winter only wearing a mini dress and heels don't freeze...
they wear super high heels that they can barely walk in...
(well and they probably consume a lot of alcohol)
2. This dress is totally backless.
You cant really tell,
but the opening goes all the way down to just above my butt.
Thus,
no bra could be worn....
But seriously, did not even matter.
This dress managed to hold my ladies in like whoa,
and keep them up-right.
moral of the story,
my ladies and myself remained up right despite the odds.
success.

Stop being so darn gorgeous! Seriously though, I absolutely love that dress and those heels
ReplyDeleteoh those heels. swoon.
ReplyDeleteno hat though...bit of a disappointment there ;)
you, your ladies, those heels, and back stole the show. #hottiemaximus
ReplyDeletei love you.
DeleteI want that coat! So cute. Glad you managed to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI cannot fathom six inch heels. I am so impressed right now.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say how much you remind me of Kate Middleton?
ReplyDeleteand that dress..major want.
Looking gorgeous, Meg!
Gurlllllllll you look fierce. And those shoes. They be so high!
ReplyDeletelove the outfit and your killer killer shoes!
ReplyDeleteI now want your coat, it's got such a beautiful, tailored cut.
xx
You look STUNNING!!! And I'm amazed that you were able to find a backless dress that kept the girls up... I've been searching for this my whole life! ;)

Jenna
I agree with Candice above ~ you're a dead ringer for Kate Middleton!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit, you look amazing!
Ah! Love those shoes. That first picture is like whoa stunning! You're absolutely right. For every inch add 2 degrees of warmth. Maybe?
ReplyDelete-Heather
Stunning! x
ReplyDeleteI feel like I just saw some behind thr scenes footage of an actress. So beautiful and elegant. Hooray for upright boobies!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Those heels are something else--loves!
ReplyDeleteglad you and your ladies remained upright.
ReplyDeleteand love your coat--think i need something like that in my life.
that dress is AWESOME. so are the heels. they make me wish i were shorter. if i wore those heels i'd be like 6'3" which then makes me feel like a guy and less sexy. buuurn.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit! And I definitely wouldn't have been able to stand up in those heels, so props to you! Also, I definitely laughed out loud when you mentioned your ladies staying up. Very impressive! Mine would have been quite unhappy without a bra...

I love it! business in the front, party in the back...which im pretty sure is an expression for a mullet..but whatever, it also applies here.
Deletebras are totally optional. also, stop being so pretty. you're making me feel inferior.
ReplyDeletethose heels are amazing but I think I would die if I tried wearing them! I wear flats and boots so much that when I put on the heels I do own (which before I was married I rocked daily) I almost break my ankle. Its sad.
ReplyDeletetake it off!!! meeeeooooow
ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.
DEFINITE SUCCESS!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look simply stunning Meg - love the outfit and earrings and lipgloss and backless dress... EVERYTHING!!
x
Perfect. In all aspects of the word!
ReplyDeletethank you girl! xx
Deleteha! Yeah right...those shoes?? No way I could even STAND in those! Much less walk! You are clearly a better woman than I! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit, so chic! And I love that it's dark, jewellery makes it so interesting. And the first point made me laugh, haha, I think you're right about the heels! ;)

i think the heel trick was the best discovery ever.
DeleteBeautiful and you make me laugh! I'll have to try that heel trick- because I did notice that about European women! I felt like a little girl over there in my flats at night! I brought them because I knew we would be walking so much, but man! I think I was the only one in flats! :) Next time, I'm bringing out the big guns (err..heels)!
ReplyDeleteit is all making sense now...
DeleteYou look gorgeous, I love your dress!
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteWow, those shoes! I love the way they look on you - but if I wore them I would literally be 6'4"...which would not be normal.
ReplyDeletehahaha. Bridget said the same thing. I didnt realize you were so tall?!
Deleteway too much hotness. seriously.
ReplyDeleteWOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Hot lady!! And I'm totally down with the no bra thing...it's one of the few advantages of not being big chested. (And after 3 kids and watching my ladies "grow", I was mostly like "these things are just so annoying!) You look fabulous!
ReplyDeletehhahaah. so true. i should have pointed out the fact that my boobs arent that big..so its not that difficult to find something to hold them up...
DeleteLove the outfit, the dress is gorgeous as is the platform shoes and coat

thank you!
Deleteim shocked theres no "right above my butt" butt shot... i mean, get with it stephen. show us the goods.
ReplyDelete(;
Gorgeous as always :)
ReplyDeleteAnd on an alomst unrelated sidenote... I loved seeing your N. Ireland pics! Especially you guys at the B&B... Only becuase there is a castle that used to be in our family in N. Ireland, in Irvinestown. There's a B&B right down the road from it. It's been a dream of mine forever to visit the castle & stay in the lil B&B. :) Totally random - but your instagram pics totally made me think of it!
love your whole outfit! let's see the back pls!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your outfit but i'm obsessed with your coat!
ReplyDeletethank you! The coat was a gift to myself for enduring three winters in the UK.
Deletethose heels are amazing! i need a pair! i might actually be normal person height in them! and i love dresses with low backs.
ReplyDeleteyou look amazing!! So good I had to stop and actually post. I feel like a stalker these days barely enough time to write my thoughts. And those heels are ridiculous (in that amazing way not ridiculous in the typical way) i'd rock em but I'd be about 6'2" probably... And that makes so much sense why in movies the european women always have HUGGGEEEEEEEE high heels on when they're wearing normal westcoast nighttime outfits. They gotta engage their cores to stay warm. And also it explains why THEY ALLL SEEM TO HAVE AMAZING LEGS.
ReplyDeleteOkay enough about that. You look amazing!! And Im glad your ladies were well respected by that dress.
♥CheChe
you are pretty. and those shoes. are scary and exciting at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHOTTTTness.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes look like a work-out.
Two birds, one stone.
Cheers.
That's a great color on you. Love the whole outfit. And congrats on staying up all night! Ha -Heidi http://fabricandfrosting.blogspot.no/
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is all, "Zip me up darling... I have to attend ANNOOTTTHHERRRR one of my movie premieres..."
ReplyDeleteDon't lie. Those earrings are straight up diamonds.
how did you know?? ;)
DeleteWhat a beaut! (You & Dress!)
ReplyDeleteEat Cake
Ha! The dress looks great on you...of course :) I also would like to congratulate you on surviving the cold and wearing 6" heels. I'd die...from both! :)
ReplyDeleteAs a London girl I can safely say (through experience of course) that in order to survive a night out in nearly freezing temperatures with no coat, you must wear high heels and you must consume alcohol. Its practically a law in London. And back to the point. I love the dress and the coat! Plus you have this gorgeous hair that I would pretty much like to steal please. Thanks.
ReplyDeletehahaha. I definitely have learned this law.
Deletetotal BABE!
ReplyDeleteso i have a navy blue lace dress from zara i've been wanting to wear but it's too cold for no tights but i felt a little weird about wearing black tights with it, ya know the whole black and clue make a bruise... but i'm def wearing the combo now!
wow girl. you look stunning. and yay for having had a successful dress and day. ok, now i don't make any sense anymore. either way, loved your outfit. :) and i keep those heels in mind, it may come in handy when i go to europe this winter. i'm already freezing.
ReplyDeleteOMG my arches are hurting just looking at how high those heels are. You rocked it! #sigh #envy
ReplyDeleteuhm ya...i wouldnt exactly call the shoes comfortable..per say...
DeleteI'm in love with the dress and after reading about the backside, I am intrigued and feel like I need to go to the store!
ReplyDeleteYour coat is fab! Love love love it! Actually, love the outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! its probably my favorite coat of all time.
DeleteYour dress is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a stunner!!

ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! Those heels are perfect. If you notice they've gone missing from your closet, you know where to find them.

Backless dresses are my jam. Perky ladies be damned. And those shoes would break me. I surrender. You look stunning though. Can't wait to squeeze your teeny tiny bod. Xoxo
ReplyDelete"This dress managed to hold my ladies in like whoa" hahaha you crack me up!!!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is seriously gorgeous but that's mostly due to the gorgeous gal wearing it!! :)
-Emily
You -- and your ladies -- looked amazing. Can we just take a minute to marvel at how good you look in dark blue?!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the jacket. good news about the ladies.
ReplyDeletestay warm!
xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams
Holy hotness... those heels just blew my mind. As did this outfit. Soooo glamorous and gorg. Not sure how I missed this post last week, but yay for figuring out the secret to staying warm in the UK. Also, breaking your ankle would certainly taking your mind off the cold. That's probably the route I would go.
ReplyDeleteIf I wore a backless dress my ladies would be down to my belly button.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous.
You look GORGEOUS. and you need to bring those to your bridal shower so we can all do an OOTD photo shoot.
CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!
You are just sexy as all get out and I can't wait to see it all in person. I can't believe this is actually happening!
