Apologies for the radio silence for the past two days,
but it's basically your fault.
After the response on this post
(which made me feel A LOT better about myself)
I added like three new tv shows to my list.
Nashville, Breaking Bad, and Parenthood.
Thanks for that.
So along with starting those shows,
I have been spending some quality time with S,
went to a salon opening with new friends,
got a much needed eyebrow threading (first time threader here, anyone else do threading?? I LOVED it.)
and went on a shopping trip for a wedding on the 2nd
(photo documentation on my instagram).
All of these things are my excuses for not blogging.
I know, excellent excuses.

Tonight I'm making some slow cooked brisket chili.
So while I cook (or not cook..thank you slow cooker)
and continue to fall deeper and deeper into the land of tv shows,
here are some amazing girls to check out.

Devon has been a sponsor and blog friend of mine for A LONG TIME now,
which goes to show what a loyal person she is.
I have said this a million times before,
but her and her hubby are such a gorgeous couple.
Like the type of couple that always makes me stop scrolling on instagram
and go "wow."
Then I do the double tap to heart it.
It's that serious.
You should definitely follow along this sun kissed, surf loving, So-Cal duo.
"Hey guys, I'm Devon. My blog is called The Mermaid Chronicles. Like a crazy person, I quit my job a little over a year ago to be a professional surfer and writer. My blog covers this and other adventures with my husband as we attempt to travel the world and remodel our house on tiny paychecks. Come stop by!"

Kayla is just THE sweetest thing ever.
I love her outlook on life,
I feel like optimism and joy exhude from her,
she doesnt let things hold her back or bring her down,
and I think her relationship with her boyfriend Mike is so tender and loving.
She has such a fascinating life, equipped with equally fascinating stories
(like the one about finding her sister on Myspace).
You'll like this girl. Promise.
Hi all of you lovely Across the Pond readers, I'm Kayla coming at you from Houston, Texas. I'm an airline employee who works behind the scenes of the world's largest airline. I started my blog, Sealed With a Kay, to document our travels through standby flying, deliciousrecipes and maybe a few odd ball stories along the way. Odd ball stories? Well, there was the one about Growing up with Mannequins, or the story about how I Found my Sister on Myspace. My blog has become so much more that I had anticipated, I've been learning through my writing, and blogging has become my favorite hobby. I love the blogging community and meeting new friends, some come on over and say hello!

ILY COUTURE is an online shop fully stocked with all our current favorite trends.
Ever heard of the bubble necklace anyone?
They have the stocked.
But personally,
some of my favorite items are these colorful clutch purses,
and their new Basilissa Necklace and Bracelet.
Looking for a current trend?
ILY COUTURE will probably have it.

Oh Parenthood - I'm obsessed. Finally caught up to the current season and I need a box of kleenex nearby for every new episode.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're enjoying your days sooo much! You should watch Downton Abbey, I'm obsessed with it.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tamarasblend.com/
oh i love breaking bad! and davon is just such a cute person! i think i follow her now since a half year or something and i really like her blog!
ReplyDeleteShe is just the cutest/sweetest girl. love her.
Deletea) LOVE Nashville. thinking about coming back in my next life as an uppity country star.
ReplyDeleteb) I had a hard time getting into threading. I liked the results better than waxing, but it hurt more! alas, not much eyebrow waxing in London... threading's the done thing! and when in Rome - well, you know.
obsessed with breaking bad and nashville!
ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with Nashville! I'm so happy to finally have a good show to watch again!
ReplyDeleteIts actually really good!! Stephen actually loves it too, but i think thats because he LOVES country music. go figure??
Deletei got through the first two seasons of parenthood in about a week. SO GOOD. i'm obsessed.
ReplyDeleteso did you love nashville?! also, I met devon in person at the so-cal blogger meet-up and she is just the most adorable thing ever!
ReplyDeleteMegan! You sweetheart you! Thank you for the kind words, and I feel so lucky to be highlighted here on your lovely blog! Hoping you have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeletexo
aw Kayla you are the sweetest!! Enjoy your weekend girl!
DeleteI have always wanted to try threading, but I'm a baby and cringe at the possibility of being in pain. I may just have to go for it though...
ReplyDeleteTell us about this chili! Sounds like a perfect fall dish.
ReplyDeleteYour excuses for not blogging sound nice. Enjoy them!!! Just make sure you din't enjoy them so much that you excuse yiurself all together. :)
Love eyebrow threading and Breaking Bad, so all around I love this post. Oh, and new friends? Love them too :)
ReplyDeleteI love Devon (from my hometown) and Kayla (who lives in my current town)!
ReplyDeleteOh! and I see your doing the reply comments now. Do you like it?
ReplyDeleteUm... you're my hero. Period. I love television, shopping, and I desperately want to try threading.
I loooove threading. I just haven't been able to find a reasonably priced place since I moved to NB. I think I'm going to have to drive to more diverse areas to find some good, authentic, cheap threading! I'm thinking I'm going to have to start Breaking Bad as well. J and I just finished Game of Thrones... on to the next!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think of Parenthood? My all time fav show...I just love it and cry at every episode!!!
ReplyDeleteSilly, but I LOVE Nashville... totally need Reyna's hair! Also Parenthood makes me cry every.singl.time.... kind of ridiculous! Enjoy ur brisket sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteTell me about threading!!! How much better is it than waxing or tweezing?? I'm reeeeeally curious!
ReplyDeleteEmily at Amazing Grapes
yay! so excited you started watching Parenthood - it's definitely a show that doesn't get all the attention it deserves. I haven't tried threading before, but I've heard good things about it as a whole! I have such a hate-hate relationship with my eyebrows, maybe I'll have to start looking into threading a bit more.
ReplyDeleteso in other words you are now watching the 3 shows i told you to watch?
ReplyDeleteI love love love Nashville!!! So so addicting already!!
ReplyDeletehahaha enjoy your shows and don't forget the popcorn !
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissi xo

Threading is the way to go!! Just don't ever let them do anything other than your eyebrows [like your upper lip]...that shit hurts.
ReplyDeleteI definitely didn't spend ALL day (I mean ALLLLL day) yesterday watching season 3 of Parenthood. Definitely not. Also didn't drink an entire pot of coffee or eat the entire butternut squash & pesto pizza (a la Marshalls Abroad!). These are things I'd never do.
ReplyDeleteSo did you find a wedding outfit then?? I had the hardest time finding an outfit for my Liverpool wedding last week, just because I feel so completely awkward in a dress. In the end I went for a dress that felt (and looked?) more like a nightgown, so no idea if it was appropriate much, but at least I felt good ;) Can't wait to see your outfit! XX
ReplyDeleteI did! FINALLY. Thanks to my all time favorite go-tos..Zara and TopShop. Its so hard to dress for a wedding when its so cold outside..but it was also a GREAT excuse to buy this coat ive been coveting.
DeleteParenthood....AHHHH the best show EVER. I cry every. single. episode. and I don't cry. I predict it will be a favorite of yours in no time.
ReplyDeleteand Nashville. Brand new and OH SO GOOD!!!!!
btw, you might want to add MTV's The Challenge to your lineup. My worst guilty pressure.

Deletei'm LOVING nashville!! and yes to threading! i had to stop waxing because of my Rx skincream and then realized how much better threading is! my brows look so much better, i just can stand how much my eyes water.
ReplyDeleteNO. You did not just remind me of Parenthood. Now I need to catch up. Cue MY hibernation time.
ReplyDeleteYay you started Breaking Bad! Good luck getting anything else done :)
