It is basically winter here now.
As in you can see your breath when you step outside and we are turning on our heat again.
However, I am fighting it.
I refuse to bust out my giant winter coats and put on 15 layers in october.
I can't do it guys,
especially because I was wearing jackets all summer.
I convince myself that a skirt with tights, a blouse, and a jacket is enough.
And then I want to die when I go outside.
BUT
I am going to California and hawaii in December..
FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH.
So a pussy bow blouse, pencil skirt WITHOUT TIGHTS, or a slouchy sweater with jeans WILL be enough.
I'll actually probably sweat,
and i'll like it.
Okay...
does anyone cringe a little when they hear, type, or say the word pussy bow?
Because it makes me feel really funny on the inside.

yah I had to re-read "pussy bow" a few times to see if that was like.. a thing? or you were making fun of the bow.... I really still don't know and yes I'm uncomfortable. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally thought this post was going to be about clothes and cats in bows. While I was wrong, at least it wasn't the other thought that came into my head when I read 'pussy bow'.
ReplyDeleteI finally got you Megan! I am visiting Stockholm for a week and it is just not right to have to wear knitted scarf and gloves everytime i go outside! Under 10 degrees in a middle of October? Just no..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy our trip to Cali, I just got back from San Diego so it is even harder for me here! :)
Petra
yeah if you bust out the winter coat prematurely you have no hope of staying warm in the long dark days of winter... laying is the way to go. love that blouse!
ReplyDeleteIt's winter in NYC also. WTF.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, awkward straight away!!! We watched James Bond last night (the old one with Pussy Galore!) - WTF?! It will never sound right, haha :)
ReplyDeleteHaha it kind of makes me cringe a bit too.. Why can't they just call it something else, like just a large bow? I love all these picks, the colors are perfect for the season. I've been wearing them just about every day.
ReplyDeleteDitto Jenna's comment above.
ReplyDeleteWait. That's what it's really called? I'm so uncomfortable. I want to die.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I love those booties. The heel is a little high for my clutzyness, but they're almost too pretty to pass up!

I laughed a little (yes, out loud) when I saw "pussy bow." Then I realized that's actually the name of the shirt. I don't think I could wear that without laughing inside every time.
ReplyDeleteI actually had to google that to see what that really was...if it was real or if you were just making it up. Hahaha!
ReplyDeletehahaha I totally just cringed at the word pussy bow!!

ReplyDeleteI thought "Huh. Europe." when i saw (and re-read a couple times) pussy bow. Crazy Euros...
ReplyDeleteWell you really can't go wrong with California AND Hawaii! I am dying to get to Hawaii again but for now I am chillin in San Diego . 68 degrees today but supposed to be hot this weekend. That's October for ya.
I LOLed when I read pussy bow and felt really icky.
ReplyDeleteIsn't pussy bow such a weird term? Who came up with that? Coming home must be so exciting, and it'll be sooo warm! I went to Hawaii this summer and had the most amazing time! Which island(s) are you going to?

Yes, totally cringe at the "p" word. I can't even type it! HA!
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite weather problem than you. It's still in the 80's (F) here and I HATE it. So ready to wear warm sweaters and big coats! That grass always seems greener I suppose.
Sarah
(P.S.-As a new reader to your blog, I totally spent like 2 hours the other night reading your older posts. I kept waking my husband up laughing out loud!! Love, love, love that I found you on here!)
& you could pull all of that off.
ReplyDeletecheers. have a lovely weekend, girl.
Oh my god that oxblood skirt! I'm obsessed! Love all the happy things going on at your blog, Megan :)
ReplyDelete-Heather

ReplyDeletehahahah you're so funny!! pussy bow. love it! makes me feel funny too though.. just typing the p word.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you going in Hawaii? I've been to almost every island (lanai or whatever is the only one I haven't) might have some good eats for you. let me know :]
Yeah, "pussy bow" just sounds weird. Winter and cold weather brings fun things, but sometimes I wish it wasn't SO cold. At least you have sunny California and Hawaii to look forward to in the semi-near future!
