So my birthday is December 3rd,
and for the first time in two years I am going to spending it on US soil!
Words cannot begin to describe how happy I am to be in the sun on my birthday and out of the cold.
My birthday last year was the absolute worst for multiple different reasons
(only made better by my sweet friend Ruth and Stephen)
but the only place I really wanted to be was home.
I sort of got lucky with the date of my birthday,
because while it is still in the month of Christmas,
the date is far enough removed from the 25th that I can still get away with getting birthday AND Christmas presents.
I always felt a little sorry for my friends who came out of their mothers womb the week of Christmas,
and frequently got stuck with the
"this is your birthday AND Christmas gift...sucks for you."
"this is your birthday AND Christmas gift...sucks for you."
However, what I want this year is a bit on the pricey side,
so I am willing to allow family and Stephen to use the whole combined birthday/Christmas present thing.
YOU ARE WELCOME FAMILY.

i like that you're already making your birthdaywishlist. then everyone knows ahead of time :)
ReplyDeleteHaha I love this! My birthday is Dec 1st and I'd be lying if I said I didn't already have a list started...people with gifts as their love language unite! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my- all of these things are absolutely wonderful! I am most definitely wanting a new camera lens (preferably 50mm) for my birthday (on November 9th). :)
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to stop by sometime and say hello! leslyni.blogspot.com

I'm with you on the present thing - I was born December 2nd :)
ReplyDeleteThose Aldo boots remind me of the Frye Melissa Buttons - have you checked them out? They're expensive but the quality of the leather and sole (and bench crafted workmanship!) are unreal! Worth every penny!
ReplyDeleteI mean, boots of any kind are worth every penny haha
I have the new IPad in white, and I would recommend them! They are great and don't listen to the people who said "they burn you", they don't, I'm on them all the time and they never heat up

My birthday is in 11 days. I have ZERO idea what I want. And unless I say I tend to get some doozies. So, who knows what I willbe in for this year.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a list going AND that you'll be home to celebrate this year. It should be an awesome time!
Oh! A new lens! See, that's just an investment on your shop and blog, not a gift. And the coat? Another investment because you need to keep warm. And the iPad? Again, investment to help your business. And those boots are so your toes won't fall off in the winter. So, again, investment. See, these aren't really birthday gifts for you, but investments for your future.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome wish list. Kind and thoughtful by letting people save up before the 3rd of December! Hehehehe!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is December 2nd, my fellow Sagittarian. Best sign in the zodiac, in my opinion. :)

ReplyDeletei love that coat. i am getting a new coat for christmas maybe--well it is on my list.
ReplyDeletemy birthday isn't for ages so instead i have started a christmas list becasuse apparently i have nothing better to do and because then all the clothes i love which i can't buy will not be forgotten :)
That lens changed my life!!!!! I hope you get it :)
ReplyDeleteDecember birthdays are the greatest! Mine is 12/12/12 this year! Paaaartaaaaay
haha good wish list :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting this celebration will be!!! I'll pitch in for the family gift. Yeah, that's right, I just adopted myself into your family. Happy early-birthday.
Hahaha "you're welcome family"! Hilarious. Those things are all marvelous btw :)
ReplyDeleteYou are just so thoughtful. Haha. Love your wish list and that's amazing you will get to be home on your birthday!!
ReplyDeleteHaha Megan, you make me laugh!! But so true having a birthday in December, and even in early January is horrible because everyone is normally still on holiday and broke from the December festivities!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the boots!
x
oh, you are so kind. my birthday is November 17, which I think is perfect too, cause it gets the holiday season started right. presents from early November to late December? sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera lens are you thinking? This is my forever dilemma, because i always want more with my camera...but I should just be content. Ahhhh.
ReplyDeleteLove those boots! Just found your blog and it is getting me quite excited to go to Europe! XX
ReplyDeleteI start giving hints to my family months before my birthday and christmas. you know.. so they can start saving up now.
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! Kind of a present in itself to be able to spend your birthday with people you love in one of your favourite places. On the plus side, when you do want bigger presents you CAN ask for them as joint Christmas/birthday presents.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be prepared! I love wish lists. It takes out the stress of thinking about the perfect gift.
ReplyDeleteHA. HA. HA.... I'm born ON Christmas day, I envy the ones born any other day of the week!!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Megan and my birthday is Dec 3rd as well!
ReplyDeleteI have two nephews w/close to Xmas bdays. Has to be rough! Combined presents and hard for birthday party scheduling= rough childhood!
ReplyDeleteOr on Christmas day, like me. FML
ReplyDeleteAs someone born 9 days after Christmas, I suffer from the combined gift syndrome. It's a dark, dark time.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting to go home for your Birthday!! I hope you get some of these great gifts.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is Dec 5. We are twins.
ReplyDeleteAhhh my birthday twin!! Dec 3 is the best birthday ever, obvs. But I totally agree with it being a nice distance from Christmas but still close enough that it's holiday season and everything's all warm and cozy and stuff :) And we usually put our Christmas tree up around then so it's always extra fun. I think last year was the first time I'd spent my actual birthday with my family in a few years...it always fell around uni exams so I could never go home until after.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will now end this novel of a comment hahaha Hope you had a lovely weekend!! xoxo
