Wedding Wear

necklace c/o Cheerfully Charmed  Dress: Next (similar here and here *love the emerald green  )

So this would be my ideal wedding attendee outfit...
I had every intention of wearing this exact outfit for the full day/night at S's friends wedding in his hometown..
But I ended up taking off the necklace because of the stares..
In S's small town, big hats=yes  big necklaces=confused
This blogger trend has apparently not made it to the rural country part of Northern Ireland,
and as much as I typically love screaming "HI I'M AN AMERICAN AND A BLOGGER LETS BE FRIENDS"
this just wasn't the moment for making a statement.

Can I talk about how these two items are my new favorites though?
I know the bubble necklace infiltrated the system awhile ago,
but o.m.g is it fun to wear and pair with outfits.
I typically am a delicate jewelry wearer, but I might be converted.

And this dress...
I felt so fancy in it..
The train was way too much fun,
and it made me feel really feminine and elegant.
More importantly, I got to wear it WITHOUT a jacket..
because this was the ONE day in about three weeks that it didn't rain and was warm.
Victory.

And in case you are wondering,
S and I ROCKED the Ceilidh.
At one point we heard a few people say "Oh they have done this before."

No my friends,
we haven't.
Who knew an American could rock an Irish/Scottish jig?
Just doing my country proud.
Next i'll be rocking a Ceilidh WITH a bubble necklace on.
LOOK OUT.

  1. That outfit is simply beautiful. Aww and that Irish dance sounds fun...we have a similar one in Wales called 'twmpath'...it's always popular at weddings and good to get everyone on the dancefloor! xx

  4. first, hi, I'm back to blogging :) Second, that outfit is so pretty...don't understand what is so confusing about the necklace. I would've kept it on! Big hats, on the other hand...well.

  15. I love this outfit, you look so pretty! These necklaces are definitely a statement, they are meant to be noticed, but I wasn't expecting people to be so surprised by them. I got the same stares when I wore the turquoise one to my office. They just don't get it. :)

Is there a video of the Ceilidh? That would be awesome.

  18. I absolutely love that dress! Unfortunately, in addition to not being able to wear yellow, I also have legs akin to a corgi. Not.Flattering. Until these stubs of legs magically grow, I'll just have to live this dress through you :)

  24. Looking so feminine, I love it. I'm loving those styles of dresses and kinda got one of my own, with stripes that is longer in the back. Any hoo, I can't wait to wear it.

I'm glad you were able to fully wear it without a coat. Coat would have taken so much away!!
