Ramblings

THIS is what Summer is supposed to look like, FYI. (side eye scotland)

1. I know I never complain or talk about the weather....
But it is now July...and Scotland still continues to think it is December...

2. There is such a thing as too much Keeping up with the Kardashians....trust me..after this weekends marathon, I would know.

3.   {after being in the country and seeing a little boy playing with a dog and feeding a horse}

S: I want to raise kids with lots of animals around, tons of land, fresh prawjuice, and running around and actually being outdoors and being a kid.
me: Me too...I meant to ask..what is prawjuice?
S: Prawjuice? like fresh vegetables and fruits and stuff..home grown.
Me: oh.......wait. You mean PRODUCE??
S: yea. prawjuice.
Me: right. The way that word is supposed to be pronounced can totally be confusing...but also not at all.

4.  Facebook is EXPLODING with engagements, marriages, pregnancies, and new birth announcements. It is a happy world in facebook right now. I just want to curl up inside it.

5.  Does it ever seem like people are just sitting and WAITING for someone to say something that they can argue with? A good friend of mine posted something on fb about not wanting to see a certain film..OMG HOW DARE SHE..but you would have though she had said "I HATE PUPPIES AND KITTENS AND RAINBOWS AND HAPPINESS" you know, something that people maybe should get upset about in response. This makes me really nervous sometimes when I blog, because i feel like if i say "I cannot stand Salad" people are gonna be all "WHAT? HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE SALAD? YOU LIVE IN A WORLD OF DARKNESS AND DESPAIR..unfollow"

6. For the record, I do like salads.

7. Stephen has wednesday and thursday off this week (random) and I am looking forward to going on an adventure and discovering new places that will hopefully make me like scotland again. Because right now we are fighting (Scotland and I)

8. I started lifting weights. They are actually just the bars that you put the weights on because the bars are like 5 lbs and adding weights is way too heavy (like 10lbs). baby steps.

9.  little fact about me: I actually used to be somewhat active back in the day before my back decided to rebel against me and put me out of commission for a year. But we are getting back on track people (pun intended).

10. this post happened because the only eventful thing that occurred this weekend was #2

11. t-5 months until I am back in california!

  1. You totally need to record him saying 'produce'! When I saw 'prawjuice' typed I thought it was prawn juice or something and was a little disgusted for a minute there, haha.

  2. less than 6 weeks until i am back in sydney...oh yeah! i'm fighting with wales (well only cardiff) atm too. but getting out to explore helps so so much. and now i know that i could genuinely live in either london or the cotswolds. (only if my fam came too though).
i want to come visit you and the puppies in northern ireland so bad. i leave for syd on the 12th so lets try before then!!

  3. I love that #2 was the most eventful, hilarious

  4. Megan - I finally understand what you mean about Scotland's weather. I was there last week and my god that is dreary! (It doesn't help that all of the buildings in Aberdeen are grey!) I'm in Norway now and while it's still rainy and 15 degrees, the sun breaks every once in awhile giving me reason to live ;)

(I also agree with #5 - I can't read comments on news articles anymore because 90% of them are spiteful and it makes me grumpy.)

  5. I like your ramblings...that's all!!! Happy Monday!

  6. I definitely want a family raised with tons of animals and a bunch of land! I'd have to hire someone to take care of real "barn" animals, but still, having a barn would be so cool! And 5 months?? How time is flying!!!

  7. My boyfriend won't let me keep up with the kardashians and i hate him for it. and i want a shit ton of prawjuice in my life.

  8. UK weather right now is just miserable! I'm embarrassed and apologise on it's behalf...please forgive the rain / wind / cold / floods / lighting etc and continue to explore and take photos of your adventures. Even if you do it in wellies!

  9. P.S I also watched a Kardashian marathon this weekend. God bless E! channel for brightening up my weekend.

  10. I can only take the Kardashians in small doses. Like five minutes at a time. I hope Scotland warms up for you soon! It's already hit the hundreds around here, but this week is only supposed to be in the nineties, and I'm pathetically excited about that. :)

  11. I do not like to hear that it feels like December in Scotland. Get it together mother nature. Its 100+ here. and even though the heat is strangling me, I’d much rather it be deathly hot then cold. I saw the status you are referring to and read some of the comments, people are so INTENSE and rude to one another. It made my heart sad!!! I don’t really understand why anyone posts anything on facebook! Stuff like that just makes me want to get off it!

  12. I think I know what your talking about on #5.... people need to respect opinions! Oh and I wish you could soak up some summer!

  13. I struggle all the time with number 5. I feel like there are some antagonistic people in the world who won't like anything you say, no matter what. It's frustrating because simple things can turn into almost a lecture.

  14. Was this film Magic Mike? Because if I read that I'd have probably said how dare she. :)

I know what you mean about the weather- it has been raining here in Seattle and I'm just getting sick of it and sick of it never feeling like summer.

  15. Mmm. Scotland sounds just about right to me! I am NOT okay with this ridiculously hot weather in Connecticut.

  16. ah, megan! hahaha how dare I write that status, shiz got a little cray. But in reality me, the husband, and a few friends were here and we were cracking up about some of the comments. I only wish I could publish some of my friend kate's comments on there because she was hilarious about some of the the thing being said! GOOD TIMES. except not really. Love you!

  17. Regarding 5, you can't please everyone. There is always someone who just has to disagree for the sake if disagreeing.

  18. I definitely think people wait for anything to gripe/argue about. Where they find the negative in every single little thing. Makes for a sad and unhappy life.

And for the record, its a good thing you like salad because I unfollowed you 1/2 way through reading but then took it back.

    You were cutting it close!

  19. hahahah I was all like "What the hell is prawjuice? Is he talking about prawn juice? What does that have to do with kids???? Why do they make juice out of prawns??"

Hilarious. If you were dating an American, you'd miss all this awesomeness.

  20. haha, prawjuice. and the salad/fb thing made me lol.

  21. Cracking up. Right now. Prawjuice? Oh my. And can we talk about how Germany is humid yet chilly today? I should have moved to Spain. I literally have no tan. Coming from living at the beach on the East coast, it's a hard pill to swallow. I feel your weather pain, girl. :)

  22. yay for coming back to cali!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wash your mouth out with soap. The only eventful thing that happened this week (or any week for that matter) is skypng with me you B.

  24. oh wow just the thought of summers looking like winters makes me upset. I have been an London girl for most of my life so got pretty used to summer equalling rain. 1 year and a half ago I moved to Cyprus and its now july and its 35 degrees everyday with guaranteed sunshine. Not that im trying to make you jealous....promise!!! :) you have beautiful countryside and fresh air and seasons that actually change and no chance of drought!!

  25. 2. There is such a thing as too much Keeping up with the Kardashians....trust me..after this weekends marathon, I would know. <----- YES its junk food for the brain!

    ReplyDelete
  26. i hate salad. but it's adorable that S is talking like that about babies and such. men talking about raising babies is the best way to get the ovaries pumpin.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Our (shared?) main man (I guess other than Stephen for you...) the West Coast hasn't gotten the memo that it is summer yet either, so don't be TOO jealous.

You should just record your life with Stephen already (too far?). I feel like for every hilarious discussion you share on the blog, there are at least ten equally funny ones that go undocumented. That's plain selfish, Megan. Not ALL of us have a lovely North Irish man to tell us such ridiculously wonderful things.

  28. I'LL TRADE YOU CANADA FOR SCOTLAND STRAIGHT UP.

  29. OMG...Ash's fb post. Holy moly. Some people just LOVE to be rude and impose their opinion on others and then get mad about the other person not being open-minded. Ha! Come on Scotland...get with the weather!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. lol, I have a friend who always pos long status updates on FB about her relationships and how they suck etc, sometimes I get worried so I'll send her a text just asking if everything is ok and what not...she had the nerve to reply last time by saying "it's personal and I really don't want to get into it or make a big deal"..... I'm thinking if wasn't a big or if you didn't want ppl to know why post a paragraph length status update about it? lol FB irritates me sometimes.

Sorry that the weather is so crappy in Scotland, if it makes you feel any better this past weekend was 104 degrees here in NC with 100% humidity, wanna trade?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love this post! So many different things, but that's life....Now your little chat about prawjuice has me thinking you need to get S to do a vlog with you for us! Seriously. We will all watch. By the sounds of it, we will all love it to.

  32. I completely forgot the burning comment I had when I read Ahn's and burst out laughing.

What this post really sounds like is that you need a vacation. A nice, Japanese vacation.

    ReplyDelete
  33. prawjuice. amazing. can we live on this commune with y'all and our prawjuice?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Great post! Especially #5 and I'm exactly the same way. However, I do actually say it straight.
    I'm lame like that.
    Anyhow, I like the post.
Hope the weight lifting goes well! Too bad you're half way across the world, I need a good weight-lifting buddy.

  35. Your ramblings are hilarious! I love to eat prawjuice :) Number 5 was cray cray haha People are ridiculous sometimes but it was slightly entertaining..i guess. Good for Ashley for speaking what's on her mind. I hope that Scotland warms up soon...I'm in South Florida and it is hot & humid! I actually don't really like it LOL Anyways...I'm Ashley. Nice to meet you :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. The next time you'll be in CA, I'll be living there! We should meet up!!!

  37. For some reason I feel like I need to apologise on behalf of Scotland, but the only Scottish peace offerings I can think of (off the top of my head) are these:
    1/ Tablet
    2/ Irn Bru
    3/ Shortbread
    4/ Haggis
    5/ Thistles (wtf?)
    Hope they help...
