I gathered two bits of information from this weekend..
1. Getting married in Stephens hometown means the whole town will come to stand outside the church (the uninvited ones) to watch the arrival of the bridal party and bride; and they love nothing more than to exchange opinions on what everyone looks like.
No pressure or anything.
Lucky for me Stephen is a hometown celeb and is marrying an american...
His family seemed to be excited about how many people should be expected to come for the show..
gulp.
2. Mommy dog boobies get really big..
I am now officially scared to breastfeed after watching the puppies pull and tug on their mommy's nipples all day every day.
Her giant nips gave me the chills on the inside.

I love the church its beautiful
ReplyDeleteIs that the church where you will be getting married? It's beautiful, all your pictures are. Ireland looks like such a beautiful place. And I would feel awkward too, having all those people come and discuss how I look, Ha!

Hi Megan,
ReplyDeleteI've recently found your blog and it's SO refreshing to follow your story as an American living in the UK. I'm from Vermont but have been living in Liverpool for the past 4 years. My husband is a born and bread Englishman. We were married last July in Southport, England and I seriously laughed out loud at your comments on the wedding, church and little Irish community. One of my best friends is from County Armagh in Ireland and it reminds me so much of your description of the future hubs home. Hahaaa! I love the Irish!
Can't wait to follow along on the rest of your journey! Are you planning on staying in the UK or moving back to the states at some point? :)
Take care, petal!
Amanda
it'll be like your william and kate! paparazzi!
ReplyDeletethose puppies are ADORABLE! i totally agree, breastfeeding seems like it could be traumatic. PTSD? prob. (also; i'm just a wuss..good thing i don't have kids yet)
*you're (crap)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, Ireland looks SO Beautiful!!! That church is Amazing and yes I would feel a little weird with all those people coming to watch me but really who cares....you are going to look Amazing and if Stephen is a hometown celeb marrying a Beautiful American girl, well then it's going to be like better than the Royal Wedding fo sho!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously those puppies...I can't get enough and lol about breastfeeding, it's not as bad as those crazy puppies make it look, ha!!
well hey you're pretty much a celebrity anyway so a crowd outside the church should be expected, no?
ReplyDeletedon't get me started on how much kids and breastfeeding terrify me... oh my
Can't wait to see what dress you choose : )

I think I might join the crowd with the hometowners. I need a vacation.
ReplyDeleteHow funny, that will be awesome though! Your wedding with be gorgeous, obviously! And I'm cracking up about the dog nips! Hopefully that only happens with dogs or fur creatures.
ReplyDeleteI think that church is just gorgeous. And i am sure you have nothing to worry about, you'll be fine -- Even with everyone being in you business. Just remember who the day is for. :)

Everything looks so gorgeous! Can't wait for your big day!!
ReplyDeleteUdder cream? I don't know. I don't think I can have puppies...
ReplyDeleteAlso, like what you did with the iReland. You're so clever.
I TOLD you you guys are like Will and Kate. I bet you'll be on the cover of their local magazine.
ReplyDeletegiant nipples freak me out! in one of my pregnancy books there is a photo of a woman and she has the biggest nipples {apparently they get bigger when you're pregnant}, they were so big i didn't notice anything else on the page--what happens if that becomes me? touch wood it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh. you guys seriously are will and kate!!
ReplyDeleteLove that little trafition of coming to watch arrivals even when they are not invited! I couldn't do that, but it will make for some great pics.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteLauren,

yeah for marrying a hometown celeb. people will be afraid of even attending. :) LOL
ReplyDeleteand hehe, let's not talk about nipples here, okay? otherwise i have to laugh. a lot.
Your honesty is amazing. That is also why I'm afraid to ever breastfeed. Woof.
ReplyDeleteOnly you would talk about getting married with the town watching and giant painful nipples. Or something like that lol
ReplyDeleteI'm also scared of breast feeding. My mom didn't breast feed me and I turned out ok. I think. ;-) have a great weekend!
The church looks gorgeous! You guys will be the small town version of Will and Kate! ha. :)
ReplyDeleteIt must be puppy post day. They're all over blogland.
ReplyDeleteI assume you won't be nursing 5 or 6 babies at once, so I'm sure your nips will be fine.
Love the pictures! The puppies are so cute.
ReplyDelete"Her giant nips gave me the chills on the inside." LOL- I know what you mean on this. But I'm seriously cracking up over here!
ReplyDeleteThose puppies are adorable though- and no stress for the wedding! You know you've got the man of your dreams and you'll look so beautiful- you've got nothing to worry about!
:)
Happy Friday!
xo Kayla
Oh my goodness the puppies are so cute. I want one. That's sweet that the whole town shows up. And wee all know that you will look absolutely lovely so there shouldn't be any pressure.
ReplyDeletethat is pretty neat about how the whole town shows up to watch weddings. That church is gorgeous! & now I want a puppy..
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful location to have a wedding, and how sweet is it that the entire town cares enough to come out and support you guys on your big day? It sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually breast feeding while reading this. You are right, it's gross and scary and hurts like a bitch! But worth it cuz that's what you do for your babies :)
ReplyDeleteI love that the uninvited just come anyway to take a peek! That's awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that! What a way to make a bride and groom feel special. So.....what is S famous for in his little hometown? Or does marrying an American ex-model provide his creds for fame? :)
ReplyDelete-Kristen
little nipple tug leaving ya queezey? gets me everytime too.
ReplyDeleteamazing.
ReplyDeletei'm in pain just THINKING about breastfeeding. you should see my face right now. ps: it aint good.
everything looks amaizing ,i love your blog,i had the same experience only that in german and coming from another end of the world, haha the uninvited are ther as CNN lol
ReplyDeletePuppies.
ReplyDeleteSo, so, so sweet.
Those lil' fur babes could brighten and sort of day.
Eat Cake
You WOULD have paparazzi at your nuptials. You would.
ReplyDeleteAnd breast feeding terrifies me. I'll just go ahead and say THAT'S the reason why I'm not having babies right now. (its not. But it could be.) Breast feeding:scary both during and after. Do you think those dog nips are just going to magically shrink back to a normal size? Oh no.
This is the reason for the 40,000 mile tune-up. I've already told Nick that one will be necessary. Just a titch of plastic surgery....to tighten everything up once you're done pulverizing your body with the having of the babies.
I have such positive thoughts on pregnancy...
puppies are just the cutest thing ever! i have a jack russell that we got when she was little but not that puppy little. And now I have a yearning for doggie no.2 and I want a puppie!!
ReplyDeletehahah yes!!! You're going to be even more of a celeb than Kate and Will!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! How exciting that you got to see what it may look like the day of your wedding.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so magical in Ireland and I can't wait to read about all of your fun plans! :) Congrats by the way, so exciting!
