I cant wait to show Stephen my home..
and be with my family..
Naturally I am about to start whitening my teeth and tanning my skin..
so that I can get through border control in LA.

I can't wait for you to be back in LA, either, only because I can tell it'll make you so happy!
ReplyDeleteHow dare the UK think BBQ is Mexican food!! Those are two VERY distinct food groups where I grew up (south Texas)!
yesterday was the first time i was really homesick after being gone for 3 months. i wasn't expecting easter to do that to me.
ReplyDeleteThis was our first Holiday away from our families and were only on the opposite sides of the country. I cried. A lot.
ReplyDeleteHaha if you don't do both of these they will never believe you are actually from California!
ReplyDeleteHaha if you don't do both of these they will never believe you are actually from California!
ReplyDeleteAh! I know you have to be so excited to go home. It looks like you had such a wonderful trip last time. I hope you have safe travels!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I would be getting excited too. :) I always get excited to go Visit my Family in Sacramento. (which is only 8-9hrs from San Diego) but still it's always fun to travel to a place you call "home" :)
ReplyDeleteTeeth Whitening and Tanning...Do they have tanning in the UK? ha
Oh mylanta! I laughed through this entire post. Is it weird that I want to be in your family?
ReplyDeleteSigh... Mexican food in the UK? I am having a hard time believing you actually tried that. And survived.
@Ashlee- oh you better believe they have tanning salons here...british people (scottish, northern irish, welsh and english) are either very pale or very orange. which can also be said about some places in the US (hello jersey shore)
ReplyDeleteThis years pics home will star me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that is one sexy ass pic of shane in sunglasses.
I should know better than to read your blog on an empty stomach. Off to eat all the things.
ReplyDeleteWe just got back from our Cali coast workation and immediately started looking at at apts/houses online. Santa Barbara kind of stole our hearts....
ReplyDeleteAww...you're going to have a wonderful time!! It's coming up so soon! You can do it :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely get a little homesick every holiday!!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how excited you are to visit your home! Those pics even make me wanna visit CA!
SO excited for you two!
ReplyDeleteThis was LAST year? Jeez I feel like you posted this like yesterday I remember those pictures so well for some reason haha He's going to love it and you guys seem like such a fun family which will make him love it even more. Now I want some pancakes.
ReplyDeleteUmm way to make this fat kid real hungry with all those delicious pictures!
ReplyDeleteLOL about border control...so true...although Orange county is worse! Make sure you dye your hair platinum, get fake ta-tas and wear your workout clothes even though you're not working out when you go to Fashion Island. ;)
Exciting!! I used to go home every six months but that was two much heart break + too many 20 hour periods spent on planes. So I got all burnt out and quit (after 3 years in my defense... I didn't give in easily) And it's oddly easier now. Never going home causes way less homesickness. On occasion, I'll pay for a friend's ticket and demand that they fill their suitcases with all stuff for me. It's a fair trade off and I get to speak English. Win win win.
ReplyDeleteLoving all these shots- so very American! The ranch dressing, BBQ, Carls Jr, it looks like you ate very well and had lots of good time with family and friends. Have a great week, love!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sam

Aw as always, your photos of Socal make me miss home too! Mainly In n Out.
ReplyDeleteAw as always, your photos of Socal make me miss home too! Mainly In n Out.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - that food makes me drool. I've been in Africa since July of last year and am dying for some 'real to me' food!
ReplyDeleteStephen's mind is about to be blown.
ReplyDeleteI mean, does he honestly think he'll be the same after In N Out (no caption needed indeed)?
Ah - ranch dressing. It has to me the most-missed-item for all americans abroad. When I lived in Belgium I had my folks ship me a bottle of ranch to get me by for 4 months! :)
ReplyDeleteI like that most of the photos are of delicious looking food. :) I hope you both have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteyou dont get ranch dressing?! Oh that is a shame.
ReplyDeleteI know that this isn't the same as in your case, but when I go back home which is about 700 miles away from where I am now, I always have to hit my fav food places as well. :-) Panera being one of them, because there isn't a panera in this whole state! gah, louisiana lol
and i'm confused, but was that wine glass in the table?? I see the top part and then the bottom part haha
p.s. you look beautiful.
What's funny is that the first day I got here I went to the tanning salon and bought crest white strips....
ReplyDeleteha I love that 98% of these pictures are of food. AMERICA, I MISS YOU. and your cobb salads. and your Five Guys. (we don't have Carl's on the East Coast.) and your real bbq and Mexican.
ReplyDeletecan you bring back some of the goodness for me?
get after that ranch girl.
ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.
Just was at Carls Jr today ... I will tell them you said hello!
ReplyDeleteOMG ranch dressing....I swear I dream about it some days...My friends visited from the states over Paddy's day and brought me the individual cups of ranch dressing...I'm hoarding it and saving it for special occasions lol. In and out...I'm not even from CA and I freaking love that place. best burger ever!! Isn't it funny how the stuff that makes you the most homesick is small things like food and stores and ect? I mean- I can call my friends and skype them but no one can mail me taco bell. (or iced coffee....oh iced coffee!) I hope you had a great easter despite the homesickness and I'm sure the boyfriend will love the awesomeness that is America...just make sure you bring some Barry's tea with you! lol
ReplyDeletethese pictures of predominantly food are so VERY american of you. well done m'lady. well done.
ReplyDeleteCupcakesOMG!
I literally gasped when I saw the In N Out picture!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love how so many of your nostalgic pictures from home are about food. I dream of the exact same thing, girl haha. This time away from home will be my longest too but only 7 months ... not quite as long as your nearly a full year! i dont know how you did that but props to you :) i'm sure you are going to have the most amazing time at home!
ReplyDeletehahahaha that last line killed me.
ReplyDeleteyou're so gorge.
Looooove the food. You make me so hungry right now!! I can't wait to have you back in CA..even though we won't hangout or see each other or text...we'll still both be on the same soil, and that's all that matters. ;)
ReplyDeleteEmily at Amazing Grapes
Do you just miss In-N-Out more than you can stand? I do and I'm not nearly as far away as you are.
ReplyDeleteI just love how 98% of the pictures are food!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness are you from agoura?!? i grew up there! gosh i miss it. but i'm sure not as much as you! good old agoura deli. love!
ReplyDeleteWhen you move back here (yes, I said when) you need to plan a blogger party since everyone loves you and so I can meet you in person and take strange face pictures w/ you.
ReplyDeleteYou better start working on that tan. All the women at the beach are insanely brown already, and I just don't get it.

ReplyDeleteah it'll be worth the wait...you'll have an amazing time and i bet Stephen will love it! this month will fly by :) x

ReplyDeleteShane and Megs. Megs and Shane. what a duo.
ReplyDeleteSoCal is gonna blow Stephens mind.
I'm so excited for you!! And can't wait to hear about Stephen's reaction to the promised land.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for your next trip! Those pictures are great!
ReplyDeleteWait! Your Hardee's over there is called Carl's Jr. SHUTUP! You have to try their chicken strips.. I mean, if you are not dieting like me. But you are so HAWT! Love it. And the pinky with the wine glass.. too effin funny!
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog and I love it! This is a great post, I never knew how much I missed L.A. until I left 3 years ago but now I am back. I hope you have a great time with your guy when you come. BTW, I love the last comment, tanned skin does seem to be mandatory here too bad my skin doesn't tan, only burns :(
ReplyDeleteLots of Love from L.A.!
Lizette
