Saturday Stephen and I had a date day of epic proportion,
so epic that has to be divided into two posts.
Every couple of weeks or so,
we try to take a little trip somewhere in Scotland.
(we arnt jet setting to France or Italy every two weeks..please).
Stephen knows I live for animals..
and still cry to this day about having to give up my dog back home.
So he found this farm way up in the hills near Perth.
We drove up this windy dirty road,
through the Scottish countryside,
passing hundreds of sheep and lambs,
wild pheasants,
rams,
and cows.
It was breathtaking.
Then we reached the entrance to the farm,
and immediately spotted a baby wallaby in its Mommy's pouch.
and I started to cry a little.
Yes, I am just like Kristen Bell with the sloth.
In fact, I cried watching her cry.
Again, like I've said before, my emotional reactions to things are not always normal.
I held a baby chick,
literally watched a baby duck hatch,
pet some baby lambs and watched them get fed with a bottle,
then drank some hot chocolate.
It was a perfect afternoon.

Looking at adorable baby animals (is there any other kind?) and sipping hot chocolate sounds perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Cuteness overload.
ReplyDeletemy favorite part of this post was "then drank some hot chocolate". i want to go to a farm but there aren't any in NYC. damn the urbanization of it all.
ReplyDeletebaby lambs are my faaaavorite!!! LUCKY!!!!
ReplyDeletei live for animals too! i made the mistake of watching marley and me last night and cried...i'm desperate for a little pet of own. baby lambs are the sweetest little animals too, adorable! can't wait to see part 2 of the post!
ReplyDeleteBambi is the cutest creature I've ever seen. I want one! I like that Stephen is drinking from a little cup and directly to the right you're drinking out of a giant mug. Interesting little visual depiction of who wears the pantaloons in your relationship I wonder? As a side note, lovely post :)
ReplyDeleteThis is all too adorable!! I am completely jealous, why don't we have places like these in the states?
ReplyDeleteThis is the loveliest.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I think I would've cried looking at those baby lambs.
ReplyDelete<3<3<3<3 Bambi.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with horses, chickens, turkeys, sheep, and cats. No wonder our entire family became vegetarian.
Oh my goodness, that baby goat is too adorable for words - and the chicks!? No words to describe the cuteness.
ReplyDeleteI would have cried too.

Peony
Not saying you have to do this any time soon, but MARRY HIM!
ReplyDeleteHere's why:
1. He is (almost) as perfect as my husband. ;)
2. The combination of your genetics would create the cutest babies.
You officially have my permission. I know that is what Stephan has been waiting for.
Cute babies!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to see some lambs! I thought I was going to have to stuff one in a box and post it to you! Also, now I need hot chocolate.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this is the most adorable post..and that little lamb is the cutest!! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fun date :)
I love baby animals too! There was this little baby animal farm in Davis (where I went to law school) and it was the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon. It also made me want a pet goat someday...
ReplyDeleteI am dying over these lambs. DYING.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Little Bambi is just too precious. Don't worry...my fiance counts the times I cry at movies. Forrest Gump was FIVE. Which he promptly shared on facebook.
ReplyDeleteWah! Bambi is the cutest!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so after reading the text I don't feel so weird admitting that the second I saw the picture of Bambi I teared up. It was instantaneous. And, just thinking about Kristen Bell and the sloth right now is making me misty. Yeah, my hormones are pretty much out of control.
ReplyDeleteThat lamb would have fit in your car!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen that Kristen Bell video before and I was crying from laughing so hard. Bless her heart, we should be best friends. So glad to know I'm not alone in the crying over animals thing!
