New Hair

It was rainy, and windy today
(SHOCKING)
so this is about the only semi decent shot I have of my hair after a day out.

But you get the idea.

Confession:
I cried this morning over the 8 plus inches I cut off.
I know.
So dramatic.
I'm not proud of it.

But in my defense,
I had acupuncture for the first time this morning..
and I think it left me feeling emotional.
This would be what I like to call
justification

It's a middle part.
In case you were like
"but which way is it parted megan?!"

I went to The Rainbow Room in Glasgow City Centre.
Stephen came too..
We were seated next to each other..
I had Dean,
S had Zara.

They do a shiatsu head massage before they start cutting..
but get this..
it's not done at the sink while your getting your hair washed..

they get some lotion hair stuff,
bring it to their station where you are seated..
then proceed to put it in your hair and rub your head, neck, and shoulders..
which is nice..
I mean, who doesn't like a little rub down?
But i mean,
here I am,
getting a massage from 6'4 muscle man Dean,
who i just met..
while S is getting a massage next to me by petit Zara..
in the midst of the hussel and bussel of the salon..

I dont know about you..
But S and I dont like to mix our swinger lifestyle with hair products and sharp objects.

I joke.

too far?

  3. I love it...love love loveeee it! And I would also like to know what lipstick/gloss you are wearing because it is the perfect color.

Are you still going to be able to do your signature Messy Megan Top Knot??

  4. I cut mine from about butt length to mid-back a few years ago and I cried, too. (Maybe for a couple of days, maybe not.) The weird thing was I was OK at home, cuz the BF didn't make a huge deal out of it. Next day I went to work and all the ladies I work with were like "OMG!" and I burst into tears. It looked great, it was just such a shock. Yours looks great, too! Enjoy the lighter head! :) Also, I want a tall male Scottish hairdresser.

  5. LOVE your hair, it look so great!
And I would love that head massage, my stylist gives me a little rub on the back of my neck when washing my hair for like 5 seconds and calls that a massage...not so much! LA isn't going to know what hit them when you go home...looking hawt!!!

  9. I think it looks great! I have long hair as well and when I cut all mine off I too felt sad, but I just posted something about my own experience of a drastic change to my hair and I feel though it may not look the best, I feel like a different person! I hope you embrace your new hair and rock it because it looks great!

  10. Giiiirl! Your hair looks AWESOME!
I just had to dye for the first time ever. Grays at 27 (wtf?!?). But after it was done, it looks just like it did before! So it wasn't that bad afterall. But I did have MAJOR panic attacks about it and waited way too long with a few too many scraggly gray hairs...

And I think they had the coed massage on purpose once they saw how hot you were. Just sayin.

  24. Hahah it is perfectly okay to cry for the loss of hair with or without justification. I know I cried like a baby the night I cut my hair from about elbow length to just below my ears. That was the most drastic cut I ever got and I swore off cutting my hair above my shoulders for a long time. To this day I won't cut it short. Yours looks great though! And I am LOVING the layers.

  25. It looks great! I'm so tempted to chop my hair but I can't work up the guts. I haven't cut off more than an inch or two at a time since high school! (and that was a looong time ago!)
    *Love the lip color too!

  26. LOVE LOVE your hair! I always go through a mourning period when cutting my hair too though. But yours is gorg!

  27. Fact- You're not really a woman if you haven't cried over your hair cut at least twice in your life.

    ReplyDelete
  28. love it.

I have a question. I was thinking about you as I was driving to the grocery store today, and I was all, "so wait, does Megan work? Or does she get to sleep in til her hearts desire and just do whatever she pleases all day." I know you said you were waiting on a work visa and I don't mean this in a bad way because I ENVY YOU if this is true. I don't "work" either but I do stay home with my kids, and I was thinking, as I was thinking about you, how much I would loooooooooooooooooove to just be able to stay home. with no kids. Like, I'd give up my kids to be able to do it.

  30. oh ps. I SO HAVE A BLOG POST in the works that I was going to post, and I swear to the good Lord above, I SO WROTE IN THAT POST that I cannot understand for the life of me people who CRY actual tears over their HAIR. I swear to you. Not that it makes me love you any less, but now I feel like I can't post that post, because I don't want to come across as mean and unsympathetic :(

pps I feel like my last two comments are snotty or something, but I swear that isn't my intention haha!! You know I LOOOOVE you! even if you DO cry over your locks ;)

  41. Bomb.com. And I am pretty sure the massage thing needs to be mandatory with EVERY haircut service in the whole world. Even at Supercuts or whatever that place is called.

You look lovely and I am sure all of your swinger partners will approve of the sexiness that is your head.

  42. ok, your hair is looking a touch more magical in this picture then it did when we were skyping today...just to keep you humble.

  48. I cry almost at the thought of getting my hair cut. I get it cut literally once a year, and every time my hairdresser gabs about how its dead, and then CHOP he cuts off an inch which might as well be a foot. I am nervously awaiting a cut in the very near future. Maybe I should bring in your headshot? Creepy? Also, I found my first gray hair this morning. And when I say grey I mean white. Time for a hair appointment. ALSO hows the middle part going? I've stood by the side part since high school when I realized looking like Katie Holmes on Dawsons Creek was not in anymore. Alright I'm finished.

  49. I love your hair and it makes me want to have my hair cutbut my hair isn't long enough to look so lovely afterwards.

  53. it looks beautiful!!

Confession: I sometimes cry when I get frustrated with my hair. It's about shoulder length and super thick so believe me when I say it looks GREAT when it's down and styled...

....but i want a bun....or a top knot...or a side pony that doesn't stick straight out...and then i cry. you are not alone!

    ReplyDelete
  54. So funny. The massage is the best part!! I love the cut, too. And middle part...so in. Look at you, you must of been a model once or something ;)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh hey hottie. It looks faaaaabulous!! And I don't think sharp objects are ever a good idea...

  57. Layers really change things up! Especially when your running your fingers through your shortest layer and realize just how SHORT it is. I definitely think yours is cute! i hope the tears leave and you decide you like it soon. It's no fun having hair that makes you sick.

    ReplyDelete
  58. You are stunning. I would cry if I cut off that much, too, except that would be like my WHOLE hair!! I love that we both were hair post friends on the same day.
