In an Insta

totally appropriate




I have instagram now...
username: msgram

Okay, Stephen does..

Because my phone is really just a glorified calculator..
it doesnt even have a camera on it..
GASP.

I just refuse to buy a nice phone out here because I dont really call anyone in the UK..
sad face.
so I kinda don't want to pay for a phone that i'll never use here.
If I'm out, I'm usually with Stephen..
hence my twitter account being active on his phone.
muahaha
Everyone wins.

But I do intend on getting a real life phone when I move back to the US..
for those that are concerned about my well being.

Maybe this iphone 5 will actually exist..

have you guys seen this iphone 5 concept?
could you imagine?
are we even this advanced yet?

It's only a matter of time before we get those dang cars to fly.

  2. I love my iPhone 4. I know when the 5 comes out my husband is gonna be all "I need it".. when he doesn't need it.
    He's an iPhone whore.

    If we ever move back to Cali I'm going to need a flying car to bypass the horrendous traffic.

Rach- ive never been a big technology obsessor...i loved my blackberry back in the day before i moved to england..but for the past couple of years its been kinda nice to not always be plugged in. I say that now, when i move back to the US ill probably be obsessive..The plan is to move stateside summer of next year if all of the stars align correctly :)

  7. haha amazing.. i have a craptastic blackberry so i steal h's iphone to take instragram photos :) my cell phone contract is up this month so im FINALLY going to get a little iphone of my own. and insurance. bc i know ill break it in no time...

  10. Anyone who disses iphones... does not have one. It's all consumingly addictive and amazing. Even abroad. My current favorite feature is tracking where I am when I take cabs so the skeezy douches can't take me on an extra long route. And I can send pics all the time to my mama... and show her absurd, irrelevant things, like my dog licking my feet, and it's almost like she's there. I could say a million things. I'm a huge fan. Esp. for expats. Also, I keeping looking at the last pic thinking... she took a picture of a hospice. That's a hospice. Even though obvs you were taking a pic of what was in front of the hospice.

  11. Once you have an iPhone you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. And not always in a good way! I love being able to check for directions & look up information but I spent my "reading" time last night playing draw something & checking facebook. Oops. Time to unplug a bit!

  14. I'm right there with you! I had no smartphones until a couple months ago when I got so fed up with my dumb phone and I now use my hubs old iPhone 3GS. I still don't have any music on it or data plan, just phone and text. :-)
    Seriously, if that's the new iPhone, I'd be worried it would break! Lol I like the keyboard though. Just give me that feature and Im good. :-)
    When are you and Stephen visiting the states? Can't wait to read posts on that!

  15. It looks thinner than my bank cards--I would so break it or get it stolen, that seems to be my record with really nice phones.

    At the mmoment I have an old and basic smart phone which is ok and a lot cheaper than an i-phone.

    Horoscope made me laugh--and I will be looking you up on IG, another way I can stalk you ;)

    I think it's awesome you still have a non smart phone. Very vintage, which is ironic because that's what instagram is trying to portray- a vintage lifestyle.

I'm now following you on Instagram (or Stephen rather... :) I have an iphone, but I really shouldn't because I've dropped it numerous times & the whole back side of it is cracked :( I actually kinda miss the days before cell phones - you know when people actually picked up the land line & had conversations...

  25. I totally get why you don't get a smartphone in England. I'm the same...but the other way around :D I still have my (now) super nerdy Motorola phone that I bought 4 years ago when I first moved to Colorado. I still use it every time that I go back because I don't see the point in getting a "better" one. I can call and text with it and that's enough :D

    But I do admit that I'm pretty obsessed with my German Blackberry :D

  28. so i have my iphone here... but i don't use it as a phone. I can only use it on wifi. And even then only for email, fb, twitter, instagram, heytell and whatsap. So when i'm out of the house i can't use it. Which kinda sucks when i'm supposed to be meeting up with someone and they don't know where i am and can't get a hold of me...
    but at the same time it's been so awesome to be disconnected and not even be tempted to reach for my phone to check my email or twitter while at dinner.

  33. This makes me happy. And I'm pretty sure we are the same person, in a totally non-creepy way.
    But I am in the same boat. 'Hey hubs, send this picture to my sister.' 'Hey hubs, post this picture on my facebook.' 'Hey hubs, take a picture of this and then email it to me so I can post it on my blog'.....it's a tedious process.

  34. I love instagram..I finally got one about 2 weeks ago...but I also just recently jumped on the PINTEREST band wagon!! Hello to New Technology Obsessions. (as if we didn't need any more)

    I love having a smart phone, it's everything I need right there AND I can pull things from my computer right from my phone. Perfect, Eh?
    (okkk..apparently I've adopted a canadian accent for the day). :)

  36. my work phone is an iphone 4 and i barely use it - except for instagram and twitter (duh). a perk? work pays for it all! i'm not really into the whole smart phone thing though. it makes me nervous - there's too much to do! even watching that video gave me anxiety for what's to come. i still rock an old school flip phone for my personal phone. no media. no internet. i like to keep it simple.

  37. Right?!?! My cell/mobile here is basically a 1997 Nokia, just smaller. I was honestly shocked the first time I got a text, because I didn't know it had those capabilities. Definitely doesn't have a camera. I'm sure I'll get some fancy piece of technology when we move back Stateside, but I might turn it off some days just to remember how nice it is not using one all the time!!

  45. i'm somewhat dreading my flight to europe because i don't have a smartphone there...and i'm constantly using my smartphone here in california. hmmmm...will i survive?? i'm sure i will. the best part though is instagram and i will miss it, unless i find wifi somewhere. LOL
