Take me to the movies

our living room/laundromat...PANTIES...

one of the beautiful photos i have from Amanda

blue skies.

soup and sandwich...it needed a caption, because clearly the picture wasn't obvious enough...

We did it.
We saw The Vow.

I am going to be honest,
I wasn't totally impressed by Channing
(we are on a first name basis)

And I am not referring to his acting skills,
because lets be honest,
we don't go to a Channing Tatum film to see his Oscar winning performance..
I am talking about his physical appearance.

Maybe its just me,
but I'm more impressed with the Jacob from twilight shirt off scenes
than I was with Channings.

Can't win them all.

I thought it was sweet though
and sad.
And very typical Rachel McAdam's.

When I found out it was based off a true story though,
then I liked it more.
Why is that?

 I am sure Stephen,
who was forced to see it with me,
shares the same opinions...
obviously.

  1. I'm glad you understand that he is a horrible actor. Some people refuse to see this, which confuses me.
Also, I'd take that soup and sandwich over Channing Tatum. Is that weird?

  5. hahahaha Was the first picture a proof for the people that thought you don't wear panties??? hahaha

Poor Channing Tatum. I saw Dear John and thought he was bad because it was his first (?!) movie. I think he's better, but ....

  6. well, my boyfriend and I have already established that we're watching it together. And by established, I mean I'm forcing him.

  7. He does suck, doesn't he? Wasn't sure I could watch it just cause he's in it. 'Dear John' pretty much ruined it for me.

  8. Yeah I'm actually not a huge Channing fan either - I'll probably see it on DVD.

  9. i really feel like i'm pushing my luck having kyle take me to the hunger games later this month. i highly doubt i could get him to also tag along for the vow. there are some limits to immasculating the men in our lives, i guess.

in other news, what's that soup and sando combo??? it looks delish!!

    CupcakesOMG!

  10. I'm the same way, for some reason I always like a movie more when I find out it's a true story. After seeing The Vow, I really want to read the book about the real couple. It seems like it's pretty different in certain aspects, but because it's a sappy love story, of course I'm interested. Happy Monday! :)

  11. I was pretty disappointed in the movie too...I expected a huge cry fest and it just didn't happen.

  12. Glad someone reads my mind. Let me repeat..we do NOT go to see Channing's Oscar Winning performances hahaha so true. I go to see the ass. What did you think? maybe combine him and Taylor?

    yeah thats what I'm thinking!

  13. ohman. jealous you convinced your boo to see it with you, mine won't. then again, he'd probably just laugh the whole time so maybe i don't WANT to see it with him! <3 the pics! :)

  14. I saw The Vow too with some girlfriends, couldn't get the hubs to go. I thought it was good and even better when I found out it was based on a true story. Although, I wish it wouldn't have ended the way it did...wanted it to keep going and learn more about their lives. Channing isn't the best actor but I did think he looked pretty hot and I love Rachel McAdams!

  15. sounds like you weren't in love with it. does this mean I need to go to a movie theater alone in Edinburgh to see it? I kind of told Corey him and Stephen could go get beers while you and I see a movie... I mean, you can join them for the beers, too, if you want :)

  16. I thought Channing was dreamy. I would totally have his babies. (okay, that sounds a little creepy but I really mean it)

  17. I love your blog, that's all. Funny and fresh.

  18. As I read this I'm watching breaking dawn haha but yes, I'm not a huge Channing fan. I love mcadams though! But yes I will wait for that movie to come on video.
Now I'm prob gonna jump on board to the hunger games train. I'm very curious now. Have you read them?

  21. hahah you know i have to agree that i appreciate taylor's shirtless scenes more than channing's. and i don't even like twilight (yeah i said it. i expect to be shot now.) i liked the vow enough for what it was. cute, sad, expected. and i guess it gave it a touch of the extremes of reality when you find out it's based on a true story.

  22. I really want to go see The Vow - mainly because EVERYONE is talking about it. Didn't know it was a true story though, glad I know this going into it - it definitely makes a difference!

That first picture looks like a typical scene in our flat - curse these non-American countries for not having dryers!

  23. Love your blog, great photos and nice to read :)
When I heard The Vow was based on a true story I wanted to read the book first. It's a good story, quite sad in parts, but an easy read. From what I've seen about the movie, it sounds like it is fairly loosely based on the true story so might for it to come out on DVD!

  24. The TRUE story is about a billion times better too!!! Read this article - http://www.umc.org/site/apps/nlnet/content3.aspx?c=lwL4KnN1LtH&b=2789393&ct=11626967

AMAZING FAITH! Praise Jesus for examples of LOVE like this one. WOW.

  25. Haha!! H said he didn't like Channing...I asked him why and he said cause he sucks at acting...I know the real reason, though, is because he knows I think he's cute :)) haha! I really liked that movie- so precious! Can't believe it's true...it's amazing.

  26. I wanted to see it but JD was not having it. He hasn't been too eager to let me choose since I dragged him to see Leap Year. :)

  27. love soup/sandwich combos. my favs. going to see the vow this week :) can't wait!

    have a great week

  28. Mmmm, that sandwich looks so yummy--just watched the Friends episode where they're all stuck in NY for Thanksgiving and have to eat tomato soup and grilled cheese--now I want one!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with all that lol Maybe its the fact that channing is married that is starting to ware on me, taylor is not!

  30. that last picture! AH! love.

  31. Channing, I believe is pretty handsome, but when it comes to his acting.. not so much. I will still watch his movies, because he is nice on the eyes. Racheal is always a great actress and beautiful.

I am glad that you liked the movie. I believe that the Lord is what brought the real couple back together in the end.

  32. i only enjoy channing for his looks, not acting. :)

luckily, i knew it was a true story prior to seeing the movie. i cant imagine having that happen to me. so sad!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still cant believe you paid to see this. Next time you want to see a Nicolas Sparks movie just pay me and ill give you a play by play of what will probably happen.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Loving Amandas print! And I am sure Stephen has a different view on your Channing story :) haha

    ReplyDelete
  35. How disappointing! The only reason I would have seen it was for Channing's looks? Now you're telling me they're 'eh!"?

    ReplyDelete
  36. still have yet to see that one.
but I really want to especially after reading an interview about the couple who it is based off of. They are quite amazing.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though..

ha ha & I love how your proving to everyone that you have underwear that you wear.

  37. I thought he needed to do something with his hair! Like, what wassss that, Channing!?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Since when do we ever recognise the acting in chick flicks? Hmmm. Never?

I took my husband to see the movie hah. He actually enjoyed it, purely for the true story. It made both of us quite emotional afterwards.

  39. you have a KEEPER on your hands. damn girl. im impressed stephen was able to sit through that mess of a movie! ah well im sure he'll get you back with some war thriller or something. xo

  40. Josh and I had no idea it was a true story until the end at the credits. I wasn't really impressed with the movie either but I think it's because I expected it to be something completely different.

  41. I saw Channing's body for the first time and I was like 'eh.' So curious why everyone loves him so much. Haven't seen the vow but I do like Rachael.

  42. I haven't seen this movie, but I've heard the story behind it, and it sounds like an unbelievably awful thing to have to watch happen to your wife! :O

  43. You really need to hop on the sans undie train.

And i love you. Thanks for having my print in your home, love!! Makes me so happy.

  44. I liked the movie, although i was glad i chose to watch it bootlegged online instead of paying to see it at the movies, since it was a nice chickflick but not something that blue my mind. and i thought channing tatum with his shirt off was verrrrry impressive!

Did you know he started his career off as a stripper?

    Figures.

  45. I thought the movie was kind of a let down (channing's body was the best part if thats saying anything). maybe i just had too high of expectations for it.

  46. I have to see this! It made my mum cry and she is an ice queen, no more needs to be said.

  47. You should read the book! The storyline is actually different in a lot of ways than the movie. They twisted a lot in the movie to make it more dramatic that didn't really happen in real life. I usually always like books better than the movies!

  48. Yesss.... I told my hubs after the movie that Channing must be getting old. I probably should NOT have told my hubs that I noticed that Channing's body is lacking compared to past views. (And now I sound like a creeper for posting that publicly. I'm pretty sure the last time I saw him with his shirt off was in Step up. Maybe. But you'll never know.)

  49. Oh snap, there are the Calvin Klein undies. So you are CK models. I knew it.
