an Irish Accent VLOG!


So I totally secretly video taped stephen doing the accent vlog..
which is sorta evil..
but mainly genius.

Things you should note before watching

1. i  made my little brother give me his christmas sweater that he bought as a joke to wear on christmas, and now i actually wear it.
2. our dead tree in the background
3. stephen just got off work and is wearing an old hoodie that he wore to paint our living room in..hence the awesome paint stains..i swear that it is not a lame tie dye hoodie.
4. he is utterly embarrassed i did this to him..
i told him it for was the ladies and i couldnt deprive them any longer.
We all have to make sacrifices.
I think he understands now.
5. Excuse the like 1 full minute just on my face..i was waiting for him to enter the room..it's called being sneaky.

    B) The first thing I think of when I hear an Irish accent is... why the hell aren't you reading me a fairy tale? That's what Irish accents are for...

    C) My husband WOULD KILL ME if I did this. But I might have to... his accent in English is so over the top funny. But his own creative use of the English language is funnier. I'm particularly found of when he swears. Because he always does it slightly wrong.

    D) The devil's beating his wife... for when it's raining while the suns out. At least where I grew up (Texas).

  6. I teach English at a school in Madrid and we have one British assistant and 3 (including me) American assistants.

    I just had them watch it with me and it was a fun debate about how we all say everything.

  10. I comment on your blog far too much--yes I am a stalker--but I couldn't not for this, you look so happy the both of you, it is such a lovely video and made me smile!

    But I am with Stephen on a lot of these, people say cart instead of trolley? Really? And sometimes people call it pop instead of soda, like old people like my Nana.

    And I like your sneaky skills Megan, with talent like that you should become a spy!

  11. That is just the cutest thing....I love the Irish accent, so much so that when I was over there last year I found myself asking a thousand questions just so they could answer me in their cute little accents.

    I am from South Africa so we also say "trolley". Guess what we call a traffic light........wait for it....a robot!!!!! HA HA HA I have no idea why but we do!!!

    My boyfriend is from Donegal and his accent is far from the stereotypical/most thought of Irish accent. It bugs him when I tell him he doesn't sound Irish at all, haha

  71. Haha I loved this! I love listening to accents and seeing what words are different in our vocabulary. When I went to study abroad in England, I think I spent the first week just telling people to say things and then I would say them and laugh about how different they sounded in our heads. And then all the words like our sneakers being their trainers and our sweaters being their jumpers. My friend actually once said 'I'm going to go out in a shirt and pants!' and our English friend was horrified and said 'Just pants!?'...we were both so confused until she explained that they meant underwear there haha.
