Hi team,
My Irish Stallion and I are currently driving back to England.
I am having a minor procedure done on my back to ease some pain
(post about it all to come)
But in my two day absence I leave you with two lovely ladies
who I have done background checks on
(aka stalked their blogs)
to make sure they are legit.
they passed.
(I die over her photos)
her and her husband are hot,
AND they are good people.
like actual good people.
that do good things.
I don't know about you,
but i like to keep those types of people around..
in case I need them.
*****************
my handsome better half and i live on the island of okinawa in the subtropics of japan and absolutely looove it.
we never knew this paradise existed before moving here.
or that we’d be living a honeymoon!
or that we’d be getting psycho death threats from meg for our daily pictures of ocean and sun.
from it’s tropical jungles to gorgeous beaches and uninhabited islands like this one
to its people who are so friendly, welcoming, laid back and silly hilarious
this place is in many ways a well-kept travel secret.
there’s soo much i want to tell you about it
and if meg ever decides to let me hop back over the pond + a continent i promise i will!
but there’s another part of japan that is heavy on my heart, and who knows, maybe it is on yours too?
the 200 km of coast that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami in march.
i just spent the last week volunteering in sendai’s relief efforts
and my heart hurts for these wonderful, kind people who have lost homes, family members, friends and livelihood.
once homes. now all that's left of a coastal town neighborhood
i am sure that all of you have successful full-time jobs and probably can't just tell your boss, hey i'm jetting across the world to volunteer, see ya in a few weeks, but i simply wanted to share that despite being forgotten in the news, the suffering in this amazing country is no where near over yet.
even just knowing that is significant i think.
if anyone wants to help in any way or wants to know more please email me :)
it's a beautiful cause.
thanks for letting me share it, meg!
