Happy Friday

top: H&M; sunglasses: TopShop

i prefer to grip my wineglass like a football. its classy.

guys, big news...

its been warm outside.

The UK and some other parts of Europe
(i clearly get my info via facebook and blogs)
seem to be experiencing an Indian summer.
aka its warm instead of punch you in the face freezing.

I actually had to go into H&M and buy a different shirt so i could change out of my sweater
because i was actually sweating.
I know, poor me, having to buy something new to wear because its warm.

hard life I tell you.
hard life.

I'm trying to soak up as much of it as I can
by drinking cold glasses of wine outside and wearing sunglasses
because the predicted weather for next month (Nov)?

snow.

and once winter begins.
it.never.ever.ends.

dramatic.

Autumn Jumpers/Fall Sweaters

This entire outfit is from H&M
which clearly means I have a problem.
I also pinned a photo of us on pinterest
which means I have a totally different type of problem.
I'm not proud of it.

My Irish man candy and I were both wearing sweaters over collard shirts.
So naturally we took photos.
Because I have a blog
and that is what you do.

I feel like these photos are so perfectly Autumn.
I love Autumn.
As long as the temperature stays at least 50-60 degrees F.
It if dips below then I hate Autumn.
our relationship is obviously very healthy.

She is pretty and funny

Please tell me you all know Raven from A Momma's Desires and Pacifiers.
She is like me,
but with children.
aka semi inappropriate
but its more okay because she has babies.
and when you birth a child out of that tiny hole,
you can do and say whatever you want.

It's true.
I don't make the rules.

The blog guidebook wrote a little excerpt about her..
and when the guidebook writes about you..
well basically that means your famous.

"Raven is a real life mom, living it up in Blogland, sharing her every day dilemmas and dreams with her readers. Her perspective always has a sassy, sarcastic slant, and a plethora of pretty pictures. Once you start reading Raven's rant you'll either be hooked...or turn to the dark side! Raven blogs about all the gory (and glory) details of married life with 2 cute kiddos. If there was a reality show called "The Real Housewives of Blogger," she'd be the star of it! Her writing style is no-holds-barred, and really hilarious. If you are new to her blog, we recommend visiting her Favorite Posts to get your feet wet."-BG

one of my all time favorite posts is her rules on blogging

Weekend View

clever

Blouse: Zara; Trousers: H&M; Coat: Nordstrom; Cowl: c/o Loveleigh; Purse: Atmosphere

This weekend I learned that:

a. Saying you're dropping the kids off at the pool can mean that you are either taking your human children to the swimming pool or that you are going to go poop in the toilet.

b. There is no escaping the fact you live in Scotland due to the endless amount of bagpipe playing/kilt wearing in town on the weekend.

c. when in doubt, turn to your boyfriend to accent translate for you.

d. Eve is to blame for my PMS. you know, because she ate the apple.

Autumn Knit/ Fall Knit

It had been one week since I did my hair and put on some make up
it was getting a little too twilight meets intervention  episode"I'm addicted to crack" up in here.
This knit was made by my Irish arm candy's Irish mom.
I get a man with an accent AND knit sweaters?
sold.
My little NHS series will resume next week..
Three days of talking about things other then clothes, food, and dog's puddys is just too much.

And for your weekend pleasure,
I am guest posting on one of my favorite blogs today

Choose to be Happy

Chelsea sent me a giant box of American Goodies..
so basically you need to be her friend.
like yesterday.
And she shares my affinity for inappropriate humor.

***********

oooo i am so super excited to virtually be here today
you know, virtually 'Across the Pond'
on one of my virtual favs bloggie.

thanks Meggie.
you are virtually the best.

my name is Chelsea
from Choose to be Happy.
i live across the pond from Meg. oh and the rest of the UK, in Atlanta Georgia.
we share a similar love of ranch dressing, root beer floats, and really sexy boyfriends.

but today. today i am here to talk half birthdays with you.
let me preface this by saying i have always loved birthdays.
ever since i was little. not just my birthday, but birthdays in general.

but i also think waiting an entire year to celebrate your special day is overrated.
much like waiting to eat dessert after din.
both rules, i do not follow. such a rule breaker i am

so because of this, i am a big believer in half birthdays.
they are made to celebrate
not just mine... yours too!
and i am pretty good at celebrating

i'm especially fond of half birthday celebrations since most over the ripe age of um seven? don't keep track. {if at all}
i am the expectation.
this makes the element of surprise so much better.

in college, i always made sure to wake up extra early to decorate my roommates doors on their half b-day
and well i have carried this tradition into my life in the real world.

exhibit a,b, and c:

it's just my special way of showing those i love, just how lucky i am to have them in my life.
plus its just a perfect excuse to celebrate.

celebrations are fun.
and this life of ours is much too important to take so seriously
ameeeeeeen

thanks so much for having me meggie!

While im away...

Hi team,
My Irish Stallion and I are currently driving back to England.
I am having a minor procedure done on my back to ease some pain
(post about it all to come)
But in my two day absence I leave you with two lovely ladies
who I have done background checks on
(aka stalked their blogs)
to make sure they are legit.

they passed.

Take it away Amanda
(I die over her photos)
her and her husband are hot,
AND they are good people.
like actual good people.
that do good things.
I don't know about you,
but i like to keep those types of people around..
in case I need them.

*****************
hi! konnichiawa! :) i'm amanda from marshalls abroad..

my handsome better half and i live on the island of okinawa in the subtropics of japan and absolutely looove it.
we never knew this paradise existed before moving here.
or that we’d be living a honeymoon!
or that we’d be getting psycho death threats from meg for our daily pictures of ocean and sun.
from it’s tropical jungles to gorgeous beaches and uninhabited islands like this one

to its people who are so friendly, welcoming, laid back and silly hilarious

this place is in many ways a well-kept travel secret.
there’s soo much i want to tell you about it
and if meg ever decides to let me hop back over the pond + a continent i promise i will!
but there’s another part of japan that is heavy on my heart, and who knows, maybe it is on yours too?
the 200 km of coast that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami in march.
i just spent the last week volunteering in sendai’s relief efforts
and my heart hurts for these wonderful, kind people who have lost homes, family members, friends and livelihood.

once homes. now all that's left of a coastal town neighborhood

i am sure that all of you have successful full-time jobs and probably can't just tell your boss, hey i'm jetting across the world to volunteer, see ya in a few weeks, but i simply wanted to share that despite being forgotten in the news, the suffering in this amazing country is no where near over yet.

even just knowing that is significant i think.

if anyone wants to help in any way or wants to know more please email me :)
it's a beautiful cause.
thanks for letting me share it, meg!

Images from this week

guess what im doing?

the fireplace that doesnt work, but is still pretty.

random cat chilling on wall

large house that is not mine

check shirt: H&M; Sweater: Gift; Ring:TopShop; Earrings: topshop

snippets from this week...
which involved leisure walks around the new neighborhood.
We will be venturing into the city centre this weekend at some point I'm sure.
I have to get re-adjusted to using public transport..
In Nottingham we could use my Irish boyfriends car more often because the city was more spread out..
but to have use a car here, in Glasgow, is like using a car in New York..
pretty pointless.
Unless you like sitting in traffic..
which actually I do..
I am from LA after all..

but apparently using the car here is just silly..
whatever.

What I wouldn't give to be able to drive here..
darn those manuals..
that drive on the wrong side of the road.
double fail.

You cant tell..
but the *ladies looked really big in that sweater.
It doesn't happen often
so I have to celebrate it via public blog when it does.

You taste like America

you would think id been held in solitary confinement for years without food..goodness.

too far?

If you know me,
or read this blog,
you know I have a thing for food.
And by thing i mean food and i are in a deep romantic love affair together.
I am slowly introducing the man with the sexy irish accent to american food.
aka butter, fat, and preservatives.
yum.

Thanks to my girl Chelsea
and my american food deprivation
(insert pity)
she sent me a big box of American goodies.
Pretty sure she scored some serious points in heaven for that.

I tore into that box like a crazed lunatic.
and proceeded to eat each item..
allowing Stephen to taste a bit here and there..
taste.
Sharing is not one of my strong suits.

Results?
He doesnt like cheetos.
red flag?
or match made in heaven because that means they are all for me?
I don't know yet.

He dug the candy corn
and reeses..
Verdict is still out for him on goldfish crackers.

I also have been slowly introducing him to American style breakfasts
by forcing him to eat pancakes (aunt jemima mix baby)
with Aunt Jemima Syrup
and American style bacon.

Sweet and savory together??
WHAT?

Welcome to America boyfriend,
welcome to America.

side note: the caption of this post is not a quote from my boyfriend. so get your minds out of the gutter. creeps.

Oh, I live in Scotland

Sweater/Jumper: Zara; Blouse: Zara; Jeans: JBrand; Leather Jacket: H&M; boots: I forget; Jumping teddy bear: Dog

Irish man candy and I went for a wee dander (see what I did there?) around the new neighborhood
We took his brothers Dog, Mable, along.
Mable's poor puddy* is all swollen and protruding because she thinks she is preggers
but she isnt.
She hasn't even had the sexy time.
Immaculate conception maybe?
Jesus's dog's puppies?
It could happen.
I'm glad my vulva didn't come out whenever I thought I was pregnant.
Imagine squatting on the grass to pee?
eep.
tickle.
That would be awkward.
