I Know I Never Post about Food...but...

"Meg, take a picture of me with the Beaver mustard"

best deli ever.

yes, that is all for me. what?

i dont know why im gripping the bacon that way either. its obviously not a flute.

peach pleasure

Agoura Deli is just a couple of blocks from the house i grew up in..
and has been there for as long as I can remember.
It is tradition for my brother and I to go eat there at least once when I am in town.
They also serve breakfast all.day.long

Which is my kind of place.

it is definitely 2pm in the above pictures.
And i am about to dive into a full on American breakfast..
portion control is clearly not something they are concerned with..

there are SIX pieces of bacon on that plate.
SIX.
this may be the moment where things went too far.
because I food coma'd out for the rest of the day.
and then I ate a bowl of fruity pebbles at 11:00 at night..

things are getting out of control over here.

Last day to enter the giveaway!

A Taste of California

hi am 12 years old and eat 4 packets of gushers in 2 minutes flat. strawberry is my favorite.

combo drive through fast food was america's glory moment. I personally like the Taco bell/Pizza Hutt combo.

the mysterious soft drink known as rootbeer...get on it Europe.

this is a tuna melt. you cant tell because the tuna is being smothered by the cheese. just how i like it.

uhm...that would be ranch dressing..not soup.

necklace: IHOD, glasses: stolen off of my brothers face, wine: #4

only in America can you order a side of ranch dressing
and get two bowls full of it.
Like, soup sized bowls.
Clearly that is too much ranch for my 30-100 french fries..
I mean, I like to bathe and roll around in ranch as much as the next American..
but not in public.
c'mon people.

A celebration of sorts...aka a reason to drink wine

necklace by the LOVELY and amazing Anna of IHOD

necklace from IHOD friendship bracelet from Sarah

necklace by IHOD
To celebrate Anna and her hitting the big blog leagues
I went wine tasting with my family..
in the BU(pronounced: boo)
(that's what us locals call it..and by locals I mean valley creeps)
or I went wine tasting and then celebrated Anna..
technicalities....
(we are virtual friends and can't go wine tasting together....yet...)

If you haven't visited Anna's shop yet..
you are seriously missing out.
Quality jewels at an affordable rate.
Anna, I adore you...
and it's not just because your jewelry makes people stop on the streets and compliment me.
that is just part of why I love you.

Southern California,
you are the wind beneath my wings.
I have one more week left to be in your warm embrace.
I'm pretty sure I have already gained 10lbs from gorging on your fatty foods.
I wouldn't have it any other way
food baby or two.
I will love them as if they were my own immaculate conception.
Because you are home.

cant get enough? This weeks guest posts from me can be found here and here

I need your advice

Okay team,

this is pretty serious.

I am going to an Irish/Scottish wedding in August.

And I am wearing a hat.

You know,
like the royal wedding.

And lets be honest here,
I am American (duh).
The only time we wear hats is if we are pretending to watch horse races
(but we really went to wear the big hats)

or at a southern baptist church in the very southern states.

or if we are old and wear purple and have weekly tea.

I don't plan on going all Beatrice on everyone
and have something take over the front half of my face..
but pairing a hat with a dress is going to be difficult.

So I have gathered you all here today to help me pick my dress.
(if I cant find one at a store in person..which is seeming to be the case)

things to note:
*this is a day to evening wedding
*it is at a castle in Scotland
*it is during the summer so it is most likely to be warm and a bit humid
*it is an indoor/outdoor affair.

lets begin.

option 1(non linen dress in navy).

option 2 (linen dress in the rose color).

the shoes will be close to either of the following.
They will match the color of the hat which will probably be around the same nude/beige/cream color.

to give you a full visual..
here is an idea of a couple of hats..

this style

this color or this style if i am lucky to find it..but from what ive seen so far..it's not likely.

obviously I am getting the hat in england...
because I am not about to make a trip to Louisiana's walmart to find a hat.

postcript: i know Sarah recently posted the second dress as well on her blog...for the record..she copied me....I joke..she didn't..neither of us knew we had been eyeing the same dress..#soulmates

weekend view

california cobb...drool.

friendship necklace from Urban Outfitters- a gift from my BFF Ali.

what resides at the bottom of my stomach

my mommy..i cut five inches off my hair..you can totally tell.

the classic holding camera in front of your face shot..which is difficult when your hands are the size of an infants and the camera is as large as your head.

We went to dinner last night for father's day.
yes,
despite popular belief (aka Jenni)
I am not an orphan.
I am also not 6' tall.
Just putting that out there.

I ordered lobster ravioli as an appetizer
and jumbo prawns as my entree
then i had lava cake with vanilla galatto for dessert
I also ate off my brother's, dad's, and mom's plate.
I didn't take pictures.
Because I was too busy inhaling the food into my system
and I get super self conscious taking photos in a fancy restaurant.
I am just super classy and reserved that way..

modeling 101.

I thought you all might like a break from my air humping photos
but fret not,
i'll show you the last batch of em tomorrow.
No really,
no need to thank me.

We are no longer going to San Fransisco..
my aunts health deteriorated and she has to wait to get better
before she can have the transplant.
It could be as long as a year.
Prayers are still appreciated.
