This is a little preview of what our new place looks like...
our flat of sin if you will.
So yes, Stephen and I will be shacking up together.
It's okay..
I got approval from Jesus.
He is giving me permission because i didnt live together with my ex before we got hitched..
and since that turned out so well..
the Lord was like,
"ill give you a pass this time..
just dont get knocked up. "
I thought that was fair.
We move in December 5th.
You all are invited to our housewarming.
Oh, you don't live in Glasgow, Scotland?
its okay, we will still accept your gifts.
When we got the place i was like..
the walls are purple..
and i have to walk up SIX flights of stairs to get to our flat on the top floor..
Im going to die.
I can barely make it around the block without being winded.
but i digress.
to give me some helpful tips on how to decorate the living room..
where the furniture has to stay
(most places come furnished here)
but I can paint.
And she got back to me with the best inspiration board,
I just had to share.
weirdest part?
That sign she included in the upper right hand corner says Dunbarton road..
and our flat is on Dunbarton road..
she had no idea..
creeeepy.
What do you think?
I'm kinda obsessed.

Thanks! GOD.
ReplyDeleteYay for moving! Yay for such a lovely inspiration board, yay for big windows!! :) I'm excited for youuuuu.
ReplyDeleteLove the board! I think the cream color will look great with all of the wood.
ReplyDeleteI think living in sin is fine. I did it. I have yet to be struck my lightening.
This is my first time to your blog, and you had me at "Glasgow, Scotland" - I lived there for about a year and miss it so much! It is definitely Edinburgh's less popular step-sister, but I think it has it's own charm and you get a sense of the "real" Scotland.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to vicariously reliving my time there through your blog :)
that's gonna be gorg. i'm excited for you two! and at least the furniture isn't awful 70's furniture with a bunch of questionable stains on it. it looks like a nice place. and your boot-ay's gonna be looking nice too, with the 6 flights of stairs.
ReplyDeletei'd be all over the housewarming party if i was around, but you can bet your ass i'll be popping in next time i holiday in scotland. get ready.
Ooo! I'm loving it hun!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Very light and breezy.
ReplyDeleteWhy are there always ridiculous amounts of stairs to go up here? Everytime I visit my friends top floor flats my legs want to die!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm sure you'll make the flat lovely and if the sofa's comfy enough your legs will probably forgive you :)
OO I'm so excited for you. If you were sitting in my living room right now and showing me pictures of your new place you'd hear me squee in delight (yes I made up a word because I'm allowed to)
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you and Stephen and the big Guy gave y'all permission. ;)
Miss your face. Can't wait to see how it all ends up looking!
E
i'll be there.
ReplyDeletejk. i totally wish though.
i'll settle for the skype tour.
you know why halloween is one of my favorite holidays? because it gave me a chance to peek inside complete strangers' homes as a kid. now when i do it it's called "breaking and entering" which i find a bit extreme. anyway, i can't wait to see more!!
ReplyDeleteCupcakesOMG!
um your flat is amazing..can't wait for more photos..those huge windows, I'm jealous..
ReplyDeletewhoaa nice flat! you are very grown up. ours came furnished too but there is some ugliness happening that we can't get rid of. darn renting! ten june rocks!
ReplyDeletemarissa @ the boot
hahahahahhaha i'm literally dying laughing. that Jesus, he sure is reasonable.
ReplyDeleteyour house of sin is wonderful. and how about i bring your housewarming gift when i visit, sayyyy in february??
yay! how exciting! so glad Jesus gave his approval :) Corey and I lived together before we got engaged/married and I think it was the best decision ever. have funnnn
ReplyDelete6 floors up every day. you're ass is gonna be rockin'
ReplyDelete: )
I love the new place and I love how she thought to decorate it. And weird about that sign.
ReplyDeleteBut now we know where you live!
Oh my gosh can I come over?! It's so sweet :) You will have it all snazzy in no time sista! xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That is crazy! But I love the flat and inspiration board! :)
ReplyDeleteDaniel and I kind of lived together before we were married...both of us at my parents' house for 3 months.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'm trying to be a rebel, but I'm a goodie two shoes. sigh. xoxo
What, you don't want the walls the color of grape kool-aid?? Also, I know it's common there, but it's kinda weird to have pre-furnished flats.
ReplyDeleteI just always tried not to think too hard about the couch I was sitting on and who had been there before...
Ooh moving is exciting!! :) And the place looks cute, you can't tell (at least not on my monitor) that the walls are purple but good job fixing that! Haha.
ReplyDeleteThe weird coincidental sign just means you must take her advice!! It's a 'sign.' (pun mildly intended) :)
I love when Jesus is cool about things. He gets it.
ReplyDeleteThe inspiration board is fab, by the way!
That apartment looks INCREDIBLE! I'm sure God approves.
ReplyDeleteAlso, totally crazy that she put that sign in the inspiration board. That would trip me out. : )
Jesus is a nice guy, send him my greetings ;)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting you're moving together! Wish you all the best
Its creepy.. Like stalker creepy. ;)
ReplyDeleteMe likes the digs. Decorate the poo out of it so I can ooh and aah
Everyone figured it out- I'm your STALKER! Dunbarton Road here I comeeeeee. Was that too weird?
ReplyDeleteOh and what I meant to say above was, my favorite thing about decorating a room is adding a personal touch... like the personal lovey dovey + Scottish art on the board. For you lovey dovey Scots. And since Scotland is the size of, like, one state in the US, there's very few Etsy art promoting you Scots. And probably very few roads altogther come to think of it. But lots of sheep. I should have added more sheep. Silly Dunbarton.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Love those big windows too! Oh, and I didn't live with my ex either before we got hitched {I'm seeing a trend here} So, I'm glad you got approval because I certainly support your decision ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm also pretty excited to see how the decorating goes! The inspiration board looks perfect!
Yay! So excited for you, Megan! I have no doubt that you will make it look AMAZING! Those windows are pretty sweet too. I love big windows! And, if Aaron and I do go to India (which he said was going to happen by Feb) I will be making MANY trips to Europe, and this includes Scotland (Hey, i'll only be able to handle the cows and people and cars almost hitting me SO much). So, you may have a visitor soon :) And now I digress...
ReplyDeleteLove the place!
Oh. My. Goodness.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a DREAM!!!
Everything I want from an apartment-- even though I've just seen one photo :)
you are freaking hilarious. I would never marry someone without having lived with him first.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeletego sinners! i'll be moving back to germany next january and living in an apartment with my BOYFRIEND, not HUSBAND...boyfriend. So it's totally fine. And also...I like those prints. Especially the "love is extraordinary" because all I can see is 'SEX'
ReplyDeleteI LOVEEE.
ReplyDeleteno really. I love.
I am so happy you can paint.
Our apartment came furnished too, and we're not allowed to paint.
The walls in the living room are two different colors. Two walls are the exact same shade of ugly dark blue as the couch, and the other two walls are tangerine. TANGERINE. AHAOIDIOASIDUOAS.
So yes. You go paint those purple walls. YOU GO.

Roots, Wings, and Other Things.
Think of the sweet, toned legs you're going to have when summer comes around next year, after walking up those stairs everyday....not that you need much help in that department!
ReplyDeleteYay, finally...an invite! It was about time. ;) Can't wait to hear what you do with everything. Yay!
ReplyDeletei think RED or BURNT orange would suit your personality more. But cream reminds me of your modelesque, classy ways... I approve.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty amazing that everything comes furnished. Are the prices better than ORANGE COUNTY and LA???
Where were you guys staying before I thought you had a place already??
Oh...so many questions... so little time.
:).
♥CheChe
Cute little flat. Purple walls could be cool...no? Ok, maybe not. You have a psychic designer friend. That's awesome. She can put everything together that you love without even asking. Sounds like a great business strategy to me!

Can't wait to see everything all put together!! lookin good!
ReplyDeleteI like it! But what, you don't like purps? I'd be all over that.
ReplyDeleteActually, my last apartment had tan walls and when we got to this new place, which isn't as nice, I was just so happy to see white walls again that I didn't even care that our kitchen is 1/2 the size of our old one.
Have fun cozy-ing it up!
Not the flat of sin. Have you lost your ever livin ... haha just kidding! I think it's adorable & I really like the design board. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteLove your flat of sin. It's ok, I live in an apartment of sin too. That's also on the top floor. It's the worst.

ReplyDeleteWoohoo! How exciting! The inspiration board is lovely. I love gallery walls! I just started one in our living room and I can't wait until it's finish. Good luck with the decorating! It will be fab.
ReplyDeletehow many followers did you lose today you ball of sin?
ReplyDeletelove you.
"ball of sin" Ahn cracks me up. I'm totally with God on this one except I wouldn't be too mad if you got knocked up. Eeek.
ReplyDeletetoo funny! It's always fun to set up a new place - i love your windows and your furniture isn't hidious (unlike what we had in Ireland and we couldn't paint or even hang anything on the walls!). You've got a great blank slate and it will be looking fab in no time :)

That is pretty insane about the sign---i love the inspiration board.
ReplyDeletehave fun decorating!
ReplyDeletemy favorite is that i read the 'this love is extraordinary' thinking what sign is she hanging that says 'sex'?
ReplyDeletei didn't think jesus approved of that...
love it!
Ahhhhh!!! Megan I LOVE it! Those floors are to die for. Haha you crack me up... And I really don't think living with a partner whom you're in a committed relationship with counts as immoral, so I'm sure Jesus is cool with it. ;)
ReplyDeleteAww love it Megan, how exciting!! Have fun living in sin girlfriend!! {I kid I kid} xoxo
ReplyDeletehaaaa... your sinful dwelling is so adorable!! just tell your lover that God said you could only live together if the man of the household did all the cooking and cleaning and gave you a weekly foot massage. i think that would really benefit your relationship, you know, in the long run.
ReplyDeleteohhhh YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHH how exciting. i seriously cannot wait to come and visit. ill help paint :)
