| you would think id been held in solitary confinement for years without food..goodness. |
| too far? |
If you know me,
or read this blog,
you know I have a thing for food.
And by thing i mean food and i are in a deep romantic love affair together.
I am slowly introducing the man with the sexy irish accent to american food.
aka butter, fat, and preservatives.
yum.
Thanks to my girl Chelsea
and my american food deprivation
(insert pity)
she sent me a big box of American goodies.
Pretty sure she scored some serious points in heaven for that.
I tore into that box like a crazed lunatic.
and proceeded to eat each item..
allowing Stephen to taste a bit here and there..
taste.
Sharing is not one of my strong suits.
Results?
He doesnt like cheetos.
red flag?
or match made in heaven because that means they are all for me?
I don't know yet.
He dug the candy corn
and reeses..
Verdict is still out for him on goldfish crackers.
I also have been slowly introducing him to American style breakfasts
by forcing him to eat pancakes (aunt jemima mix baby)
with Aunt Jemima Syrup
and American style bacon.
Sweet and savory together??
WHAT?
Welcome to America boyfriend,
welcome to America.
side note: the caption of this post is not a quote from my boyfriend. so get your minds out of the gutter. creeps.

How did you live without those foods?!
ReplyDeleteJust when I thought we could be friends. ^.^
ReplyDeleteREESES GET IN MY MOUTH! you are too funny! and is it weird I pictures President Bush saying "Amurica!" ha

chelsiekins is getting major crowns and jewels in heaven for this one.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Totally feel your pain! When I lived in the Philippines for a few months I would pay big bucks just for some American chocolate!!
ReplyDeletesome things i never had a craving for, until i was out of the country and couldn't get them... i hear ya.
ReplyDeleteYES! first mexican food and now the most important meal of the day. seriously how did the scots survive without you?! :) i love me some bacon. and pancakes. xo
ReplyDeleteHa! When I lived in London I definitely had similar food attacks. There was this little "American" corner at this little shop in South Ken I used to pilfer with all the American enthusiasm I tried to hide in an otherwise refined society.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as the Cheetos go, it's perfect... More for you.
Hahahaha! I love this. :D I'm sending a package to pia from Germany and she specifically asked for red and brown licorice, something they don't have over there. I'll have to stick in some candy corn and goldfish too!
ReplyDeleteI definitely just gave Chelsea my address too. Uhh could I love her more? I'm not sure... but I'd be willing to try.
ReplyDeleteI think the pic of you basking in the glow of American processed food is appropriate and awesome.
yummm! some of my fave guilty pleasures :)
ReplyDeleteHOW can he not like cheetos or be undecided on goldfish??? HOW is that possible? Btw, I ate flaming hot cheetos for dinner last night. I'm not even a little bit ashamed of that.
ReplyDeleteI am cracking up on your side note!!! I am going to go out and eat a ton of American food in your honor today!
ReplyDeleteperfect. I love it. Don't they sell those American things at that little American food store over there?
ReplyDeleteDarn you for putting my mind in the gutter. It was clean and out until your side note.
ReplyDeleteYou actually had american style bacon there?! When I was there and they showed me their bacon I just stared at it wondering what it was. Their bacon has NOTHING on our bacon. U-S-A! haha
Emily w/Amazing Grapes
He doesn't like cheetos?! But those are dah bomb! haha
ReplyDeleteAlso, the pic of you basking in the glory of American food? 100% appropriate.
I love the pic of you with all of your goodies! I am wondering if the food in Glasgow is as bad as the food in London??? Eeeew. I am caught up on your Scotland move now. I will be there next March on an 8 day self-driving (husband-driving) tour. I am pretty excited. I know the weather will suck in March but, (I think) I don't care. My husband is a "Mc" who has traced his peeps to Ayr. He found out they were "lairds" or "lords". He wants to be introduced as Laird Brian now. Hmmm. I can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteshe is just an angel from heaven, sending you that junk. i'm not quite sure how you've lived without cheetos, but it's definitely a good thing he's not into them. all that cheesy goodness for you!
ReplyDeleteside note: eww.
Thank baby Jesus he likes Reese's. I would have had to question your choice in men if he didn't. And I think it's good he doesn't like Cheeto's. Look at the amount of snacks you're going to have to share with him! At least you get the beloved orange cheese sticks to yourself.
ReplyDeleteNomnom.
Yay! American yumminess. If he doesn't like fishy crackers, we can't be friends. Stephen and I, not you and I...don't worry (: I live off of those. Since I'm hypoglycemic I have to pack an emergency snack at all times in my purse and fishy crackers are my go-to!
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't like cheetos!?? Hahaha you are making me soooooo hungry right now.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good friend in Chelsea... and a sad existence without candy corn!!
ReplyDeleteto add to sarah's comment, yes. she is getting major crowns in heaven for this one. ....except that i will be there, waiting for her. to remove those crowns. for not sending ME anything.
ReplyDeleteso, so jealous.
also, i guess this means i think i'm dying before chelsea?
i love you and i love your posts.
ReplyDeleteamy day to day
Okay, two things lady...
ReplyDelete1. That first picture literally made me lmao
2. That last line caught me red handed because as I read your post I was like "ooooh, i see what she's doing here" HAHAHA
KISSES!
haha man oh man. you and your american food! still dumbfounded as to why the hell you are not obese?!? xx
ReplyDelete"american food.
ReplyDeleteaka butter, fat, and preservatives"
AHAH !
Still a question : how the heck do you stay so thin with all this "american food" !!?
omg i love chelsea.
ReplyDeleteshe is just the cutest.
everyone should read her BLOG.
moving on, i have love/hate feelings towards that store near you that sells american goods, because NOW you don't need me anymore.
ps these pictures made me giggle. your my fav
totally not a red flag the man candy doesn't like cheetos. sharing is for little bitches.
ReplyDeleteCANDY CORN IS OUT ALREADY? Sweet baby Jesus! I need to make a trip to 7-Eleven ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell you about my trip to the grocery store last week. I bought 5 (FIVE) bags of chips (2 of them were Cheetos, obviously), and the check-out guy asked if I was throwing a party. I just smiled and nodded...but did not tell him the only party people were me and Doug. They are all gone now, by the way.
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE to have you link up some of your pictures at my photo swap going on this next Sunday!! ;) Following ya now!
ReplyDeleteYUMMY! How nice of her to send all those things to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm noticing a trend here though... I'm not a fan of cheetos either... an American thing like root beer, maybe?!
I love bacon. Couldn't live without it. Couldn't live without any snack foods for that matter. And candy corn, I already got a bag and started eating it.
ReplyDeletethe third photo looks like you're on a happy food coma, how do we call those? food high. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused..
ReplyDeleteWhat does your boyfriend eat?
I know they don't have the snacks...
But what about pancakes.
Aren't those universal in the european and english speaking world or Ireland...?
So sadddd...
I found the best pancake joint in Ladera Ranch. It's called CORKYS and the pancakes are the size of a plate.
Yeah. That excited me.
But they also made i-hop taste like mcdonalds.
The breakfast burrito was split in half with a girlfriend.
And then we took our halfs of the half burrito we each got home.
Along with 1 1/2 pancakes.
We could only eat half of the half of pancake that we ate.
once again... the conversation turns to me and what I've been doing.
♥cheche
Wait a second, he doesn't like Cheetos?? Now I'm kinda worried about his sanity. I'm not sure if I approve now. Although, I do see your point, more for you. Hmmmm. I'll have to pray about this. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteAmerican food is the best. It just really is. We may be fat, but we eat well. And that's what I'm about.
THIS. IS. HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeletehah. I love food that's just so terrible for you.
ReplyDeletehahahahha hilarious. Love it. Ranch is a staple of an American diet. We love our condiments. He hassss to like goldfish...who doesnt? honestly!
ReplyDeleteLove Cheetos!!! Great American snack. I think its good he doesn't like them. Who wants to share Cheetos, I sure dont.
ReplyDeleteI have NO idea what ANY of these delightful treats taste like either, poor deprived South African girl! hehe. Love this post! Had me in hysterics!!
ReplyDeleteOh man... can Chelsea send me some delicious American goodies?! All the way to New Zealand? Please? I want some Goldfish crackers! And the rest...
ReplyDeleteThat bed picture cracked me up! You're awesome.

Patchwork à POrter
I get so excited for you when you're able to eat American junk food! You look like a child on Christmas with all your food goodies.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am sorry, but I did not eat In-N-Out OR Del Taco while I was in California. I am an epic failure in life.
okay, seriously.. why are you so funny?
ReplyDeleteif you want i can let my gramps have a chat with boyfriend to tell him how good cheetos are. he swears by them too!
too funny! And to think that pancakes can be eaten any day of the year and not just pancake Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteImagine my delight when I discovered that they actually have Kraft mac & cheese here in Dubai - sweet heaven!
I was just thinking about this. My obsession with food. Then I was getting worried, scared I was obsessing. But then I thought of your love for food. It calmed my fears.
ReplyDeleteFood packages are the best. I moved to STL from ATL for grad school, and it's amazing the foods you can't get here. I can't even imagine what it's like being in a different country. I love candy corn...so yummy! And the boy doesn't like Cheetos? What's wrong with him? And way to go with the Aunt Jemima mix...it's the only way to go.
ReplyDeleteBahaha that pic of you in food ecstacy is CRACKING me up!!!!
ReplyDeletehow on earth is the verdict still out on goldfish? Only the most important food group ever. Second only to chalula hot sauce.
ReplyDeletewe were talking to our drive this morning about sweet and savoury. if we are supposed to think baked beans at breakfast is okay, they are gonna have to get over the syrup next to their bacon/sausage. mmmm mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteps. tuesday night work? i'll be in touch with more details tomorrow... waiting to hear back from missoni!
Yum. What a phenomenal mix of deliciousness.
ReplyDeleteI personally am not allowed to eat candy corn because I will make myself sick. Then I will have to go to the dentist & have all of my teeth drilled for cavities.
I'll just send all the candy corn I receive over to you. Okay? Okay.
Love, Leigh
What about the Ranch dressing???? Ranch on everything is so American.
