I am in England

I am.back.
In England that is.
Totally, and utterly jet lagged.
Going from West to East is basically like traveling through the fiery pits of hell.
At least what I would imagine it to be like..
I've never been there..

fingers crossed.

The flight was horrid.
I did not have a row to myself.
I am still in awe of how the girl in the middle kept falling asleep..
I should have taken her drugs.

I did however pay $55 to be able to wait in the VIP lounge at LAX airport.
Worth every single penny.
Good thing i was wearing a blazer.
I made some friends with a UCLA prof and a football player..
and some guy whose dad I'm pretty sure is like the president of Abu Dhabi..
they were not flying economy with me...

They also did not pay to bump me to first class..
rude...

I knew I should of worn heels.

And now I am back.
And I miss American food.
So I made myself a cake.

and then I passed out for 24 hours.

  1. hahahahaha. you are too cute! That cake looks so yummy. I was on a 16 hour flight a couple months ago and wow, that flight was sooooooooooo exhausting. I got home feeling grumpy and exhausted.

  2. Girl, I can only imagine your jet lag... I'm exhausted just thinking about it. What a good idea to get into a VIP lounge. Glad to hear the cake made you pass out... I'm sure you need the sleep after a trip through hell. That would make anyone tired. ;)

    p.s. That cake looks amazing!

  3. oh my gosh, that looks like heaven! if your flight was hell, that cake should have pulled you right up.

and i'm debating about dressing up to fly home, but i just don't know. i feel like being comfortable is more important. i'd rather be comfy in stretchy pants in economy than okay in heels in first class i think.

  7. You are hereby hired to make all of my post-flight food creations.

I'm pretty sure that if you'd made that cake for the president of Abu Dhabi's son he would have certainly paid for you to ride first class.

  23. Wow. That cake looks delish!!! You made that all by yourself? I'm impressed. I hope you get over your jet lag soon. I am the one that normally sleeps on long plane rides...but I take dramamine (the anti-nausia pill). It knocks me out every time!

  24. Bah, I SO know how you feel about that flight, it is completely and utterly brutal! - But I bet it was a small consolation to get to see your hubs on the other side :)

  30. Always fun when you meet someone in the airport! The flight over to you is exactly why I have yet to go visit all the places I want to visit. I'm terrified of being on a plane for that long. I feel like I might get claustrophobic and begin to have an anxiety attack, which would result in me yelling in my outdoor voice. I could try to pull it together and get my bootie on a plane, though.

I'm so glad you made it back safe!

  31. oh man, sorry your flight wasn't good! but that cake looks fabulous, much fancier than the cakes i make! ha!

  33. Aren't 1st class VIP lounges just the bestest ever!? I got to be in one in Heathrow and we were SO bummed we got there so late. We only had 45 minutes in there and didn't get to enjoy anything but the breakfast. And seriously, how rude they didn't offer to pay for your upgrade! What's the deal with guys now a days?

I'm thinking you're aware you WILL need to supply the details of this cake you passed off as yours. ;)
