The wheels on the bus

 take me to school
(you have to say that in tune with the title)
actually you have to sing it.
it's better that way.

I discovered something fantastic.
there is a bus that picks up only a block away from my house
and drives to my side of campus.
Yes, I pay a pound 60 to take a bus from one side of campus
to the other side.
there are approximately three stops between my house, and my stop.
Uni West Entrance, Paddling Pool, The Tennis Centre,
then Uni South Entrance (where I get off).
Those are the stops.

I get a little embarrassed when I clearly have been waiting for the bus
(time that i could have spent walking to my side of campus)
then get off three stops later..
aka 20 seconds later.
I feel those British eyes on me as I get on,
then immediately off the bus.
Judging me and my youthful legs that I should use
to walk the fifteen minutes from my house to campus.
But you know what?
I am from LA
and
nobody walks in LA..EH!
(you know that song?? nobody walks in la, walking in la..)

started and ended in song.
that's how you do it.
a blog post that starts and ends in song that is..

during winter..before the discovery of the magical bus..and yes, that is a leaf in my hand..

  5. I feel ya girl. I went to a small college of about 1400 students. The senior dorms were sorta far away from the academic buildings. When it was nice out and everyone walked, I still took the shuttle up to campus..and it literally is a 5 min walk #lazybones

  11. You are SO allowed to take the bus. I take it down town to do hw a lot. Unless there are creepers....which is almost everyday. I don't tell my mom about them (:

  13. That's a "winter face" if I've ever seen one! I feel for you. That's the face I've had for the past week or so in Colorado, because we've been getting bombarded with snow in May. Not. happy.

    Nice leaf though. (:

  14. I used to walk everywhere in the Caribbean, but here in the States? uh no! I take my car to the park which is 2 blocks away from my house and start walking there. Isn't that weird? I really wish I walked more, maybe I should start walking more (to places) again

  15. This video is kind of appropriate for this post, so I thought you'd appreciate it.

  16. I think you should jog in place while on the bus, and then exclaim that you're glad you got such a good workout in when you get off the bus. Then people would really look at you weird.

  33. i sang both those songs just so ya know.

sooo i don't hate walking too badly but when we first got here last year our home had this big hill I'd have to walk up ... well, it was just too hard for me. So in my twisted little mind i thought it would be better if i hunched over like an old lady and put my hand on my back .... JB looked at me like i was nutssss. i am indeed. still do it when i have to go up big hills. #dontthinkithelps

  34. I enjoy walking when the weather is nice and warm and sunny. I dis-like walking in the rain. I had to walk to class every day in college and if it really started pouring...I would sprint across campus to class. I once ruined a pair of uggs doing this. That last picture of you is priceless.
